BMW Team RLL finished second and fourth in this weekend’s 53rd Rolex 24 at Daytona on the 40th anniversary of BMW Motorsport’s very first race in North America and the start of the 1975 IMSA season for the iconic BMW 3.0 CSL. With car numbers chosen to honor that car, the No. 25 BMW Z4 GTLM finished second and the No. 24 BMW Z4 GTLM took the checkered flag fourth.
Congratulations and here's to more podiums in 2015! |

Garage pass is good - a lot of activities, day or night, especially if staying for the whole race. Otherwise 2 day pass is enough (extra $5 will bring you Rolex baseball cup, very basic)

My pic above is closeup from Turn 1, where front tri-straight goes to infield, you can also see return to the Turn 2 banking and pitstops, if you sit high enough. There is no assigned seating, so you can seat anywhere you want.

How is it for photography with a pit pass?
We were going to do the Champions or Rolex club. Already have our hotel just deciding exactly what we are going to do. Done Road America a few times with their photo pass for TUDOR and AMA Superbike. We were at Sebring in Turn 5 and had some great shots. Here are most of my shots from those events https://ericptek.smugmug.com/ If your into photography I would highly suggest the Photo Pass at Road America. You go past the pedestrian barriers right up to the track in some places where the corner workers are. I was standing on the other side of that barrier for his shot, probably was doing 150: https://ericptek.smugmug.com/Road-Am...ca/i-wCf8BZq/A Probably 10' from the track for this shot https://ericptek.smugmug.com/Road-Am...ca/i-BkwB5cN/A |

Garages are pretty open for shots, and infield has minimal fencing, too.
Update: You will need garage wristband to get close - it is on Event Extras Tab in Ticket central https://secure.racetickets.com/Dayto...a&eventid=4210 Last edited by dim635csi; 01-03-2016 at 12:49 PM.. |
