Amazon Echo
This thing is dangerous. An always on microphone in your house that stores your habits and preferences in Amazon's cloud. And you pay Amazon to spy on you. Discuss.

I mean, what does it do/record when you have an argument with your SO? Does it try to intervene or does it just recommend relationship books?

Really shows how much people are willing to give up for convenience. My experience with these trackers has been pretty poor as well. Any time I watch a firearm review on YouTube my recommended videos section gets inundated with "the gov't is lying about 911 and ebola" tinfoil shit; can Amazon do better?

You complain about your wife's cooking, and Amazon drones deliver a cookbook. Argue about money, and the drones deliver a financial guidebook. Argue about last night's sex, and Masters & Johnson show up at your door.

I wonder how quickly someone will kick down my door for saying the truth about how poorly the President is doing.

Going back 50 years at least. I wasn't paying much attention before that.

Very similar to concerns people had with the Xbox One. The question is does it transcribe and send to amazon everything it picks up, or only things immediately following "Alexa".
Would need to be researched to see exactly how it functions and what data it's sending to Amazon to properly gauge the security and privacy risks. My worry is that even if it was ONLY sending info asked of it, it may interpret a different word or phrase as "Alexa" and attempt to search it.

Yup, it is always listening for the Alexa/Amazon command:
http://www.slashgear.com/how-private...echo-07354486/ Also has a mute button. That kind of defeats the purpose of having something like this though.
