Protocol for Tuned Trade-In

Trading my S4 tomorrow. It's APR Stage 2 and has an AWE Exhaust. Question: Do I program the ECU back to stock or leave it as is? Pretty sure the dealer is taking the car to auction as it was in an accident 4 months after I bought it (not my fault). What's the protocol here?

I traded my APR stage II S4 in as well a few months ago. I used the 94 tune but I left it on the 91 octane tune in case the new owner doesn't put 94 in it.

I would think that depends on what the dealer thinks they are getting. I once traded in a BMW that had a custom exhaust on it when we made the deal. I put the stock exhaust back on and sold the custom. The dealer was mad at me because they were expecting the custom exhaust.

Bend over ...smile, ask for lube... No one likes it dry. I would say if you can take off parts and sell it on an Audi forum. If not, most modifications have no huge cash value at trade in. Just try to get the best price on the complete transaction. The accident is going to hurt, but again. Smile your getting a M3.

Let us know how it works out.

Good luck and welcome

We've already worked out the deal. It's fair all things considered. I didn't feel like parting the exhaust so they are getting it as-is. The exhaust is a sunk cost anyway. Just wasn't sure on tune protocol. Oh well, they are getting a tuned S4 and it'll be a good day.

I traded in my revo-tuned S4 without mentioning it. They also hit me for an accident report, even though I only had very, very minor cosmetic damage (but that isn't their fault, just the limits of the reporting system). I had also recently bought new tires and front brakes. I believe they immediately sent it to auction. I was kind of lazy with this purchase, I wasn't looking for a great deal, just a relatively fair deal.

I wish there was a way to sell the tune as I would be all over it. Already have the AWE...

I traded my A3 (FBO APR K04 kitted) as-is. Hey, they didn't test drive or inspect the car before taking it on trade at the agreed amount, so when they came back bitching about the test pipe fitted exhaust, I had nothing for 'em.
