2004 530i Concerns?
Basically my girl has the opportunity to get an 04 530i for a smoking price, the mileage is kind of high, at 69k but we know the owner and the thing is in great condition.
My more specific questions are what are the common components that fail on these vehicles (i.e. like timing belts on the A4, coilpack, etc.), what goes wrong with the 5 series after sometime? Anything i should take close note of to look for before purchasing, we are going to have a mechanic check it out for general stuff. Any specifics I should check out?

The 530i has the same engine as the previous generation, so is tried and true - even still has a dipstick. It's basically an E39 with a better chassis. Been considering one myself, some great deals on them now...

Great price for sure. Tried and true mechanics, but the electronics are still iffy. If the car is local, I think I know which one you're talking about...if it isn't, there is a local 530i going for $18.9k if I recall correctly with about 70k.
