2015 Fiat 500 Abarth
i helped my brother pick one up this week. tried to convince him to go with the manual transmission but his fiance cant drive stick. nonetheless, i was very impressed with not only the handling but the actual ride. for something with a such a short wheelbase and tight suspension the ride is not as rough as i was expecting. plus, the exhaust is intoxicating, i dont know how they managed to get that sound out of a 1.4l 4 cyl. the only thing i didnt like was the radio and info screen controls but im sure its fine once you get used to it.
he went with the grey with red leather interior with basically every option available, sticker was over 30k. Sweet ride!
But price tag is quite high for such a small little car! |

Nice! Fiat let me borrow one for a weekend since I was attending a car show a few weeks ago. It certainly is a fun to car to drive, and the one I had was a manual. You're right about the exhaust: sounds great. And I agree with the controls: they are no easy to get to, especially not the radio. The A/C is also piss poor, as on low the car does not cool down and on high it makes too much noise. Perfect little city car though.

Neat little cars. I think it's a good middle ground if you don't like Smart cars.
Does it share the same motor and the standard, or is the Abarth different? |

i hear you, if he wasnt getting married he would have gotten the stick and i was willing to teach him. plus, he works in downtown brooklyn and the car will be used mainly to get to work and for city driving, iv had stick shift in nyc and its not fun to sit in gridlock traffic with it

The Abarth is a cool little car. One parks near me frequently in my parking garage which always gets me wondering what it is like to drive.

A guy in my unit drives the exact same car down to the color scheme. And I can't help but giggle every time I see him get in to car. He is a pretty big guy, like 6'2" 200 pounds. And I think it's a cool car for a chick, but not a dude by any means. I dunno, I couldn't drive one.
