What to buy next? Want a larger car that's fun!
So, I just sold my 2013 F30 BMW 335i M Sport. ......after 6 months of ownership. Don't ask me why. ...I love the car! I actually had a panic attack after I realized that it was sold.....lol
I seriously have a sickness.......In 2 years I have been through 4 cars, going on 5, so about 6 months each. I love all kinds of vehicles..... I am looking for something bigger that is still fun to drive, probably going to lease this time around too..... I am performance minded and love to Mod. So yesterday I test drove a 2014 535i, A6 TDI, and S4. I wasn't sold on any of them all things considered. I have been convinced that I wanted an S4 for a while ....until my test drive yesterday. It is a beautiful car and although the best performance of the 3... I felt underwhelmed and it feels small. I feel like my 335i is a tad larger, more comfortable, and a better performer. The 535i was by far the most luxurious and plush...great interior, smooth and capable but not as aggressive performance as what I have in the 335i...felt boring Didn't help that they have a new M3 and M4 on the lot taunting me A6 TDI was surprisingly nice, never drove a tdi before, lots of torque, capable, nice interior but....again just felt like a decent business class luxury car....felt practical despite the price. So now I am considering the following. ...Cadillac CTS V Sport (V6 TT), Dodge Charger SRT8, Ford Taurus SHO, and Chevrolet SS sedan. Have not test drove any of them. ..but all similar class and larger cars. Thoughts, experience, recommendations?

SS will get manual and maybe MRC for 2015, along with some decent colors. It's still an excellent car for MY 14 though. The SRT8 is a beast, different flavor of fast. I'm not a fan of the SHO.
Test drive them all and see which one you like best. EDIT: MRC is unlikely but there are rumors about it. Manual is for sure. Last edited by ragingclue; 07-11-2014 at 11:54 AM.. |

I am questionable on the SHO and SS but wanted to give them a chance. At least SHO is boosted so mod wise there is potential ......i actually had a brand new f 150 quad cab fx2 fully loaded last year about this time. ...it had the ecoboost, ttv6, great platform. Got rid of the truck for my 335i. The Taurus is kind of bland exterior wise though...but the least expensive of the group. I am really intrigued by the srt8, despite the fact I said I would not buy another American car, or naturally aspirated. It's kind of a unique car though. ..they are more technologically advanced than I realized, great u connect interface, adjustable damper suspension and drive modes, big and spacious, the seats are really nice. Harmon Kardon system....biggest draw back is the dash materials and look...very plastic ...looking & cheap...but a lot of tech features. ..plus ballsy ass 6.4L Want to test drive one

try a 550i. when i went from 335 to 550 i was quite pleased.
or spend a bit more and go for a c63. i don't hear too many people upset when they get one of those. lol cts-v is cool but i'm not sure if i could feel right about it psychologically.

Good thought, lot of trim options so at least the 3.0 although the best trims are priced at 99k and soo much sicker. Like a 528i vs M5

The Lexus GS might be something to consider. A facelift should come next year, with possible new model too, the GS-F. The GS F however wouldn't be a direct M5/E AMG/RS6 rival, but more of M550d/S6 rival. It would get the RC F engine.

The SS has the LS3. Talk about mod potential.... Everybody has already done all the work for you.... If modding is going to be important, I would not take the SHO over the SS. Just because it's boosted doesn't mean it's going to like more power. Good luck with that transmission. The SRT8 is a hoot. It's an absolute sledgehammer. The SS is more akin to what we've become used to from BMW as far as driving dynamics go, it wants to carve. It's also the more pleasant car IMO as far as interior aesthetics/layout. The SHO handles like a heavy FWD based AWD car. But in the end it's all about what fits your wants best. You can't really go wrong with anything mentioned so far. |

Based on the price of ISF, doubt I can swing the price of a GSF

If you notice the cars in my range are 40-60k ish Great watch, I do have a test drive waiting on that one Same issue here, great cars but over budget. ...c63 isn't any bigger than the 335i. I drove a new E350 a few months back and it is very nice. ..but capped performance with na v6

The SS sedan will have a bit of exclusivity due to it being such a low volume vehicle. Pretty much one won't be built and shipped to the US unless it is sold. It may not have the brash design of the SRT8, but that may help with keeping the cops off your back when speeding.
And judging by Pontiac G8 resale value( especially the GXP's which is the predecessor of the SS), the SS sedan may hold its value fairly well. |

You drove the S4, but found it too small. Did you consider the A6 3.0 TFSI? Same engine as the S4, with a more luxury feel. A6 with black optics package looks really good. |
