Agree, I don't understand the Camry comparisons. They're both four door sedans, other than that they look absolutely nothing alike. It makes for good internet forum fodder I suppose.

Where in my text, you will find even the slightest suggestion that he is not entitled to have an opinion? He has no right to ask why “I am here”to have an opinion, as I have no right to ask the same thing in return. In fact, the expressions “like you” clearly reiterates my acknowledge of his right to free speech. Also, should I presume that my text “ Like you, I have the freedom of speech and you have no saying in my right to exercise it.” Is not elocvent enough? Or is not visible enough to contribute to the overall message? Furthermore, the last paragraph seals the nuance of the text. “Respect” and “common sense” correlated with the rest of the text -again read it all- highlights the idea to argue against the idea/ opinion, not against the person. There is a whole -very clear- nuance within the text. If you can see it, fine, if not, not much I can do further. Also, I am tired of these arrogant “simple questions” from individuals that believe that everything that is not in line with their opinion is not welcome. Is not a simple question; a whole principle is behind it. Freedom of speech is not freedom of being disrespectful. Just stick with the subject and accept that others may not agree with you. It can be done in a proper manner. Very simple. |

I really don’t love it.
BUT, real talk though, obviously still going to get it. I’ll skip the middle stages everyone has mentioned here that progress from the leaked shot like clockwork — “it’s growing on me;” “it looks better in person;” “anyone know of an allocations,” etc. (But my F90 isn’t going anywhere).

I love it. Hopefully this generation will be more aggressive in the styling department, by that I don’t mean M badges and whiskers.
I always felt the M5 never kicked the door open and shouted look at me, maybe this time we’ll get something with real presence.

This BMW x Toyota partnership is really starting to dovetail into M5s looking like aggressive camarys, not camarys looking like M5s

Up through the E39 M5 I would agree. Since then less so. With the acquisition of Alpina I wonder if they will make the M cars visually more aggressive to differentiate from whatever they decide to offer as a B5.

I'm not sure what BMW plans on doing with Alpina, my guess is that they'll move it up market even further as some sort of trim level for the 7er and up, almost like what Maybach is to MB. Thankfully Alpina will still exist.

When the F8X came out, mostly loved the look. I didn’t like the slope of the hood from a side view and how the front end of the wheel arch looked on the sedan…minor things I could get over. I even liked the non-M version. When the G20 came out…it kinda looked like a mess upon close inspection but I could live with it. The 4 series looks terrible because of the grill. But recent M cars look like a cheesy JDM body kit and other bits are glued to it. If it was all functional…then I guess OK. But I think BMW M has also given up on trying to keep these cars at a class leading low weight. Most of all, they feel like a big bodied drag racing car. The feel of the car is…there is no tactile sensation. The objective performance is sensation…no arguments from me on that. But it’s not better in a way that makes me have to have it. IMO, the E39, E46, E60, and E9X M cars…those you get in and love it immediately. Those are extremely difficult to improve on. There’s a reason why a lot of people go back to the older gen cars despite the rod bearings, shit gas mileage, painfully frequent maintenance needs and rear tires that routinely wear out in 5k miles.

Me too. The LCI is truly the end of an era and I won’t be able to give it up, regardless of how good the G90 may be.

Whole lot of ugly in that photo, but I'm sure it will look better than the G80/G82 which is an extremely low bar.

Design piece came out of a post graduated design students? My goodness what have BMW been designing all these while? The best rear M5 design was F10 generation, G30 generation was still acceptable. But this? Its more like a China branded car that wanna be boombastic to get attention.
