I honestly don't hate this nearly as much as the other designs of recent. At least they didn't do the stupid slit eyed double headlight thing.

Can you get this WITHOUT LED grills? It's not as bad as the little buck tooth SUV but the lights are just flat out obnoxious. . . I don't want to call more attention to the grill it's big enough as it stands thank you very much Munich!

Let's just spare a sympathetic thought for the captain of M trying to look and sound enthusiastic standing in front an EV... Presumably, he was the same chap who claimed in an interview with Autocar a few months back that the majority of thoroughbred M-owners wouldn't apparently care about what the next gen drive trains would consist of (right...). Still, at least they're retaining, with seemingly scandalous defiance, some semblance of a V8 for the top end of this new bulbous iteration of the 5.

This says it all, an M badge on one of these. Talk about diluting the brand!

The front doesn’t match the exterior styling and overall side profile is really bad looking.
Well it could be lower but then you would most likely end up with bad knee angle for the rear passengers, and that's not how it's supposed to be.
I'd rather have a car that rides a bit higher but with superior seating comfort.
Tesla suffers from bad ergonomics in the S and 3. Haven't tested the new S so can't say much there.

It's amazing how BMW's gone from my #1 brand to total irrelevance in the matter of 10-15 years. Each product release is like getting sucker punched... eventually you just stop caring.

This thing's a set of gimmicks on wheels.

I'd rather not, but I get why people do. The ride height gives great visibility and a relaxed drive. Sure SUVs don't handle as well as sedans but not everybody have the same perception about ride handling.

Anyway I'm glad that they didn't compromise with seating comfort. I certainly would never by an i5 with bad ergonomics.

The headlights from X1 kinda bug me. May be will grow on me. Tail lights no longer L is not a good move, but i get it, people want a long light bar and you cant be Porsche, so you have many shorter light bars...

wanna see in person to make final call.

Very good point. The new Benz actually look worse than the BMWs.

Of course!

This is a BMW forum, not a design forum!

The new E class is quite handsomely put together.

Every morning I walk past a 2 series tourer. So front wheel drive glorified shopping trolley. That has an M badge on the side.

Talk about diluting the brand!

This will sell like hotcakes. Traditional with enough new design tweaks that won’t polarize - like the monstrous i4 grills.

Performance will be superb and I’m just glad JT doesn’t have a square steering wheel like the XM.

Now if only they could give me a circular tach - hate those triangles!

If I hear “M” one more time I’m going to go ape shit. You can’t justify this car as Motorsport (or any other non-m car) by “M”-ing it to death.
