Strange line of dirt

I was cleaning the car and noticed this strange line of dirt between the front and rear door at the bottom of the door. It was on both sides of the car in the same place. To remove it I had to spray some index on it and really rub it. Had anyone else noticed this?

I wonder if it could be residual "tape glue" from the "Nicht Öffnen" tape and wrapping German cars use when they leave the factory for transport?

Not sure, I will keep an eye out next time I wash it to see if it's back.

I had the same thing, but it just wiped off with a good cleaning. I believe it's just the natural spot where water runs down the car between the doors. It looked like water stains to me the last time I washed it. I think it just shows up more than normal because it's against the shiny black bits.

When I first got my car, it was the worst (hardest to get off), probably because it had been caking on since the car was built and started being transported. Once I washed it off the first time, it seems to come off more easily now when I wash it. If you look closely, you may also see it under the other ends of the side doors too, not just in the middle between the doors.

My 2014 328i had residual wax coating from shipping in the door jambs. I don’t think they use that anymore. I’ve seen photos with a white wrap covering parts of new cars.

I have the same thing. I wash my car really well. I think it’s just runoff of dirt and grime from rain.
