if I'm leasing the 530i, I probably won't really care... but I always buy my cars and drive them for many years.(at least 5 to 7 years)

I already went through something similar with the BMW X1 that I bought earlier this year. When I placed the order, BMW didn't have Driving Assistance Professional available yet. If I just waited 2 months, I could have added that option in.

oh man... I feel sooooo old after realizing that. (well, I am old, but have been in denial)

You know what today is i5 launch day with BMW dealers.

They have i5 and 530 for the demos. I got the pictures for both i5 and 530. waiting on video then I will post everything here. I'm also moving my build to later date when 4UR is available. Who knows it will come available next month. Have to monitor the availability.

See my conversation with SA. He said light moves and dance in the display. wow.

I think it will be worth it since its NC for 530i.

Saw the pic from the G60 Accessories thread, but yea I think I definitely prefer the Interaction Bar. I really wanted to place my order on the 540i asap, but I guess I'll hold it out for now too.

Does anyone know if this is affecting the 540i as well. My dad has an I7 and the interaction bar is really neat. I’ll hold off my order if it’s not yet available.

I assume it is. All I see is "4UR - Ambient Light" from the ordering guide from the sticky thread.

Just check the bmwusa.com i think 540 xdrive has the crystal like interactive light bar that is available on the i models.

Looking at the configurator picture looks like 540 is not affected by the shortage.

and if 4UR is there, that means it will get interaction bar.

I asked my SA to check in this. I’ve not heard anything yet. I’m planning to put in an order on a 540ix soon. If the 4UR option isn’t available I’m going to wait.

ask your CA to send you latest ordering guide for 540ix, he can download from the dealernet tool.

Then look for 4UR option in those latest guide if there isn't any SOP date mentioned next to it.

if not, then you are good to go.

After your build is done, ask for the detailed spec. sheet and confirm 4UR.
