Anyone tried fitting a road bike in the G60 trunk?
I5 M60 specifically...
The measurements seem to work - just barely - but you never know with odd-shaped objects like bikes until you try. I installed a Stealth hitch on my G30, which has been fine, but the 530e trunk floor is drastically compromised by the battery pack -- G60 is somewhat impacted in electric form, but not to the same extent. |

You read my mind. I’m a road cyclist and this was the hardest part of me saying farewell to my wagon. Most of the time I ride from home so no need to travel, but I’ve been wondering about whether I’ll get a roof rack (and then pay the efficiency penalty)
You might get me to go out tonight and give it a go ;-) Stay tuned. |

OK - it’s a tight squeeze but it kinda works - I have a 54cm Tarmac here, so if you’re taller/have a bigger frame, that might not work. Of course, if I took both wheels off it’ll be a bit easier but I was trying to avoid the chainrings rubbing on the side of the opening to the cabin while leaving the saddle/seatpost in place.

Excellent, many thanks for the photos Richard! I've got a 54cm Trek Domane, so that's a perfect comparison and great to see that it works with only the front wheel coming off. I was actually considering the I4 briefly for the ease of tossing the bike in the hatch. Guessing there's no way my full suspension MTB is fitting back there, but that's what my wife's X5 is for

Glad that was helpful - I had similar thoughts about the i4, but really wanted the bigger feel of the i5 to be honest.
It might be possible to find some other ways to put that in the back of the car - I’m not sure I trust myself not to ding the car somewhere with a pedal or the bars. I could flop the seats down on my old 3 series and just throw the bike in without any wheel removal at all. The one thing I miss…. Whenever the handwringing about G60’s gets too much, we can always start handwringing about road bikes. |

I had the same requirement but be it for a gravel bike (wider bars) and could not fit it *with the front wheel still attached* .
So the G60 became a G61 on order. |
