Weird clicking sounds in brand new 520i

I just bought my car 3 weeks ago and im loving it so far but im facing a problem , whenever i go through rough or bumpy roads i hear a weird clicking\rattling sound inside the cabin , right of the driver to be exact but not sure if its front or back , it sounds like a plastic part hitting something , it only happens in rough surfaces and it really makes me anxious and i focus on it way too much i spent hours trying to fix it , any tips?

First, clear out the interior. Then bring in another person and have them locate it.

One obvious place - the seat belt buckle on the passenger side on the door pillar.

Garage List
Do you have the screen in the rear window on the car? Someone else had an issues where the screen (when stowed) was rattling. I think they took it to the dealer and got it fixed.

I didn't mean completely clear it out. Just the little things you put in the glove compartment, etc.

If I have to look for the noise, I'll probably go after the armrest lid first....

I am extremely a**l when it comes to noises inside the car.(from the days when I used to do car stereo installs and competitions... back then, I used my girlfriend's stethoscope.. she was a nurse)

These days, I use a cheap stethoscope to locate noises that drive me nuts. (like this one I bought for $9 at my local Walmart pharmacy. Have someone else drive the car while I listen with the stethoscope. Works for me 99% of the time. also works for certain engine noises.

Any tips?

I went to the dealership and they heard the sound and they told me they will open up the interior and they will try to locate it , but im having some second thoughts because im scared that when they open up the interior ( the passenger side door and the front dashboard) i might hear new sounds or it would make more problems , should i give it to the dealership or try to live with it?

Your call, but if it’s bothering you, I’d give it to the dealer to fix, assuming that you have reason to believe that the dealer is competent.

I have a similar issue to you. Basically, there is a sharp spot on my iDrive controller knob. It's like a small piece of metal sticking up from the edge and you can easily catch your finger on it when using the knob.

I took it to the dealer today to look at it and basically they have to order a whole new iDrive center console and replace it. I decided to let them do it rather than try filing down the sharp spot myself, but I sure hope they don't cause another issue when disassembling the center console to replace the iDrive controller panel.

IDK why do they give people defective cars in the first place its soo frustrating to pay a no small amount of money then have a stupidly damaged car

Thats the problem in google maps their reviews are concerning with some people saying that they left their cars on the sun which damaged the interior and some say they had mechanical issues and after giving it to them they gave them the car back with some more problems, and the rattle really makes me anxious, so i would probably give it to them because i have no choice.

Did you manage to get this resolved? I have something very similar and would rather not take it to the dealership. Thanks !
