Question Replace BMW i5 G60 side mirror cover

Can anyone explain how to remove the side mirror cover? It appears to be different from the previous G30 model.

Has anyone managed to find a solution on how to replace the covers?

I am also interested in.
Yesterday I tried it with a trim tool. It did not work or perhaps I was somewhat too cautious.
I checked some youtube videos but all the mirror caps from the other models are slightly different.

I could not find any video for the G60/G61/G68 or even G70 which seem to have the same.

Have you tried removing the mirror first? This is usually the case for most models. This allows you to get access to the clips.

Yes, I removed the glas first and saw one clip for the cap. But it was still very tight. Nothing moved.

Looks like it's 2 clips and 2 screws.

I think the screws are for the indicator panel.

I have tried a few times to remove the covers.
First, I removed the glass.
Then, there are two clips on the bottom mirror cover - they hold the two points marked in my photo.
I can’t unclip both at once and pry the cover from the other side. There is very little space to reach the clips. I’m considering disassembling the inner cover
Screws are only for indicators

I finally made it.
Took 2 hours.
In principle you don't even need to disassemble the mirror glas, but I would still recommend to have more space to interacte with the whole mirror system.
It is all about using a trim tool to unclip the mirror cover. No skrews or clips to push. The problem is that the cover sits really tight. Much more difficult than for other cars I did before.
However, I started to push the trim tool slightly into the gaps near the outer side of the mirror (near the light for the rear traffic assist) and moved further upwards. By doing this the backside of the mirror cap jumped out by itself slowly. The most difficult position is the little clip near the inner area of the mirror (towards car window). Hear you have to be careful to avoid breaking the clip.
Later the installation of the new cap was rather easy and took not more than 5min.
