Digital key and car wash

With the digital key, the car locks and unlocks when I am a certain distance from it. Do I have to disable automatic locking/unlocking if I want to take it to a car wash location (where attendant drives the car into car wash)?

Can I enable valet mode and leave the physical key?

When I could not wash my car after surgery. Yes I would
Just leave the fob with them. No need for valet since they just move in out

Garage List
Like some others have mentioned in these forums, every time my wife or I walk into the garage to get something or take out some trash, the car unlocks and unfolds the mirrors. I'm wondering if anyone else has turned off the comfort access feature because of this. I'm not sure I want my car unlocking and locking and folding/unfolding mirrors so many times every day when most days I'll only drive it once or twice tops. I wonder if all the extra activity is going to wear on those parts over the long run.

Thoughts?

If you want to turn it off it is passive entry and not comfort access. You’ll find the setting in the digital key on your phone. In my experience the car only does this a few times and then seems to stop listening and requires touching the door handle to open it next time.

The best thing to do when you go to the garage or to the trash is to do it without keys or iPhones.

Exactly this - first time I washed my car with my phone in my pocket was ridiculous! As has been noted elsewhere, the car seems to stop “listening” and going through unlock-lock cycles if the doors aren’t opened. I’ve not turned off the passive entry/comfort access.

I agree with this too! However, my wife leaves her key fob for my car in her purse, so whenever she leaves and returns using her car, my car is unlocking and locking. I don't think she'll want to leave the key at home somewhere out of her purse. The question is really so I can understand how to tun off the feature, just for her key, but leave it on for my keys.

Happy wife, happy life. :-)
