Wind Noise A Pillar/Side Mirror

Just got my new i5 M60 last week and loving it apart from this annoying sound. When driving over 70km/h (43mph) I get noticeable wind noise from the A Pillar/ Side mirror area.

It's very noticeable with gusts of wind. I can;t tell if it's just the outside noise (with poor window noise isolation) or a leak into the cabin. I've also compared with my wife's iX which is barely has any wind noise.

All the seals/trims look intact

Anyone else noticed this? Or has an idea for a fix?

I can’t comment on if this is typical or not, but one recommendation that I’ve seen put forward is to use a German product called “Gummi Pflege Stift”. It’s a rubber care product that’s designed for the weather seals around doors, trunks, etc.

I purchased some, but I have not yet incorporated it into a detailing.

I notice the same thing. I think it's both a design issue and the fact that there's no engine noise so you only hear wind noise.

I’ve not noticed it at all, but my hearing isn’t that great anymore.

A number of video reviews have mentioned this, others have not. Not sure what to make of that, and I can’t comment as I don’t have a G60.

I’m aware of some wind noise but nothing major- I’m driving freeways on a very regular basis, but never thought it was a broken seal on my window.

Just back from a trip and took my M60 on the freeway here - I turned the audio off and was running my AC on “very low”. I can’t say I noticed any change kick in at 45mph, or that wind noise was exceptionally noticeable.

That noise comes from the design of the side mirrors. It does that to all the M cars.

I’m experiencing a similar issue with my i5 eDrive40, but it’s related to bass vibrations rather than wind noise. When listening to certain songs with heavy bass, there’s a rattling sound that seems to come from somewhere between the rear window and the rear speakers. This noise syncs up with the bass and is audible even from outside the car.

Interestingly, when I open the trunk, the noise completely disappears, but it comes back as soon as I close it. Lowering or raising the rear shade doesn’t have any effect either. Has anyone encountered this problem with bass vibrations? Any suggestions on how to resolve it?
