Another iOS 17.4 and My BMW app thread
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com Approaching my car with Digital Key +/iPhone would always wake my car up and send an updated time stamp to the My BMW app. I liked this, because the My BMW app would be ready to accept a pre-climate command this prevented my car from "deep sleeping". Now with iOS 17.4, my car will not come to life when approaching. Anyone else have this too? |

I updated to 17.4 as well and it's still working for me today. Maybe try to re-add the key to the wallet?

I’m having other problems but not this.
However, I’ve discerned that I think when the car is parked in my garage at home, eventually it stops listening (at least as actively) for the passive entry from the phone. I think there must be a safeguard where if it is reading it repeatedly on and off (as it does depending on where I am in the house) it will stop responding. In those circumstances, I have to touch the door handle it get it to work. If I have not been home for that long, or in a while (and the car is there) it responds passively as expected. |

Mine already did that, but it does tell me that my phone Bluetooth is not compatible with iDrive. I rebooted iDrive but it won’t connect. I’m phoning the genius line today.

I just did a hard re-set on my iPhone and then re-booted iDrive in the i5.
Went back in the house and waited a bit and then I walked into the garage and as I approached my car, I heard "clicking" and some lights near the gear selector and iDrive knob illuminated (same behaviour my iX and i5 used to do). Maybe resetting my iPhone and iDrive did the trick? |

I got off the phone with the genius line. He verified that my BMW could not turn on Bluetooth. I had to go to system settings and look for updates. I did this previously, but this time it actually updated something. Then I did an iDrive reboot. My phone connects and my car sees my digital key.
My eSIM is still messed up. He said I have to delete my Id. I can’t without transferring it to another Id, then deleting then restoring. I will fool with that another day. |

I can’t activate eSIM because my Verizon account is a business account. Makes zero sense, but that’s what I’m told by BMW.

Business accounts for cell service cause major headaches. We finally had to switch our business account to a non business account. No benefits, only problems.
