Side view mirror is squeaky!
When I approach or move away from the car and the side view mirror is coming in or out, it sounds like an old door in a haunted house. Anyone else have this? I’d be happy to grease it but I don’t even know where to apply it.
Right now it’s just the drivers side. Thanks! |

That's a warranty issue. Take it to the dealer so you don't have to worry about it too much.

Same issue, but I took it to the dealership and they fixed it. So far it has not resurfaced….

Just noticed this today for the first time as the weather is getting warmer.
I assume others got this fixed at their dealers like digriz ? |

It's possible that when I asked the dealership to fix it, they just lubricated the joint, and now it seems like a more permanent solution is needed... |

+1 I have this issue on the drivers side. Seems the plastic rubs and squeaks. Looks to me like BMW tried to make the gap too small and the outer plastics that are not supposed to touch rub on each other.
Has anyone found a lubricant that works well and will not damage the plastic / paint? I was thinking of trying a silicone spray. As others have said, sure i can warranty this but I'm guessing they'll just lube it and give it back. I don't mind doing the lube job myself if I knew what kind to use. |
