Not saying he can't do it, but car design and rendering are related but different skillsets

Render seems to be close, but the main feature (yes, those kidney grilles) are too small.

I am also impressed the VAG group Skoda teasing BMW with their designs. Just check their low-tier Skoda Octavia design and how it resembles new 5 series.

What do you think about this one?

Cheers!
Major resemblance of the Audi RS7 in the rear.
Which isn't a bad thing.

If your render is accurate (great job btw), this would be quite the improvement for BMW designs over the last couple.

Nice rendering BMW43. Of course people that render well can be ME's and design cars. It. happens more often today than years ago. I did it in reverse. ME, MS, then BSID, but I worked in electronics in SV heyday

The problem is rendered pictures are almost always nicer than the real ones when they come out.
BMW designers should look at these free resources before they finalize the design!

Sales aren’t “bombing”. All big grills are selling well, and big grills aren’t a fiasco by any measure. And these designs are planned years ahead.

I would be interested in figures for 4 series and the new m3/4 a year after launch compared to the previous generation.. I think from my observations they aren't many selling as I hardly see any around but I couldbe wrong too. The big sales are from 3 series x1 x3 x5 etc still have sensible grilles.

This is exactly what I thought! Also, it somehow looks futuristic in a great way.

7 series, X7 and 4 series have big grills. They all sell more than their predecessors. Sales figures were shared in this forum. Also M3 and M4 with big grills are selling very well, and almost certainly they will be the best selling M cars ever.

The problem with your post is that you don’t even know the sales numbers but you’re giving false information just because you don’t like the design. Very self centered point of view. You can be sure that BMW designers and engineers know better than you, and they never “bombed” before with any of their 3 or 5 series variants.

7 series and x7 I like them BUT... lci with split headlights coming soon
new 4 series m3 m4 you aren't providing any links to sales figures to their predecessor models. Their design and grilles are atrocious.
Ultimately having owned many BMW'S over the years I want them to succeed as I own 2 currently and this one is a tasteful design.

There is a Skoda SUV (Kamyk???) which has this grille and the split headlights seen on next gen 7 series and X7 prototypes…

Guess where the current BMW designer came from…. :

Also Rolls Royce from 13 years ago, which is also made by BMW.

There's always this weird urge to wrongly push the lie that BMW is just copying this cheap brands in this forum. Really weird. Btw, the render looks nothing like that Skoda either. It simply looks like a 5 series with a flattened grill. And it's a render.
