Reset key fob's association

We're struggling here, after purchasing an out-of-state car (no sitting with a BMW expert to set up everything).

Swear I set up one fob to me, one to my wife - yet when I go to use it under my profile it says "already assigned to other user" and won't let me alter it.

Any ideas?

If it’s been correctly paired you shouldn’t have to do anything. Your profile should come up automatically when using the fob to enter. Is it possible you had both fobs in the car when you were assigning them? This will confuse the system and could result in incorrect pairing. You might need to repeat the steps shown in the video:
