It will be the fastest most capable M5 ever Might wait to drive it before you dismiss the car entirely

Hmmm interesting, could still go both ways at the moment I feel.
Has potential to be good but also disastrous!

I miss the angel eyes already. Those LED ‘slits’ just don’t have the same effect anymore.

I don't like the fact that an M car carries around so much weight. Straight-line acceleration is well and good but I am hoping for an all capable real sports sedan for one last time before everything gets fitted with a ton of batteries.

Yeah honestly there’s not a single body line on the G60 that I prefer over my G30.

Drivetrain will be the same as the XM but possibly tuned a little differently. I’ve driven the XM and scratched the M5T from further consideration because it was such a poorly integrated system. Yeah, they will probably improve that for the M5 but a 5000lb M car still is subject to the reality of physics and I’d rather spend 150k differently.

I'm thinking, could BMW go the same route as Porsche with a non phev m5 and m5 (s/comp call it whatever) phev. This way the customers are free to choose whatever fits their needs.
Can definately see the benefits of a proper phev for the customer who also would like the better mpg and power. |

1000% an M3/M2 with its pure ICE 500 hp 3.0L engine will still definitely be a better buy in terms of drivetrain and fun side of the car feel over this new hybrid M5. Last edited by eddj; 08-04-2023 at 09:18 AM.. |

First M5 that would come with significantly arched rear fenders, and rear air slots.
If that's the case, it could grow. M5 has been long overdue for some tasteful aggressive styling.

Tech is ofcourse welcome but these designs aren’t classic. Point to the 992 Gen Porsche 911 of moving forward while retaining the classic elements. |
