Although I am a cat person, this reminded me of something I read in an article about dogs the other day. The concept was fascinating, I thought. I just found it:
...we discussed the poet, philosopher and animal trainer Vicki Hearne. “Dogs are domesticated to, and into, us,” Ms. Hearne wrote in her 1986 book “Adam’s Task.” “And we are domesticated to, and into, them.”

I have my cat for 9 years now and I am glad to see this thread about BMW recall goes directly to meow care.

a couple of weeks ago, 5 days before Christmas to be exact, I had to take my 16-year-old cat to the emergency vet at night. It was clear that he was suffering and ran out of his 9 lives.

I gave permission for the vet to let my cat go peacefully. I've had him since he was only a couple of months old. Needless to say, I was totally devastated. Did not know that I could cry so hard in front of strangers(the vet and her employees).

Cherish every moment you have wit your cats. They are the best!

(please accept my apologies for straying so far away from the topic)

I know what you mean Space. Same happened to my wife and I a few years ago with our 15 year old Belgian Sheepdog. Sad, but the right thing to do.

I think cats and Bimmers are good together. Both very agile and fast
And that is from a dog person.

Not sure if anyone’s taken care of this yet, but as a heads-up I went to my dealer this afternoon after getting the BMW notification which said it would take an hour or so, but the dealer wanted to take the car overnight in case they needed to “reboot the system” which can allegedly take several hours.

Of course, no idea how likely that is but I rescheduled to a time when they could give me a loaner.

whenever the dealer says "we need to keep your car overnight", I always take a picture of the odometer when I drop it off, to avoid any misunderstandings. Something that Ferris Bueller would have done if smartphones were available back then.

The myBMW app should serve that purpose pretty well ;-)

I had this done this week. They did need it for more than an hour, but they did not need it overnight. Got a full charge out of it too!

Mine still shows nothing needed on the tool I use to check, but I did have 2 issues that were taken care of at the VPC in December, so this was probably the second code that I couldn’t figure out.

I only get update on my mom's i4 .... my i7 and my wife's iX have never receive an in-app "OTA" update
Just gotta revisit this and note that I just came to the dealer after my OTA update and whaddayaknow….the recall was satisfied by the OTA in my driveway.

Seems like BMW is making some progress here.
