What’s happening with the design of these new cars hopefully they can save the M5 at least but I’m not expecting that considering the new m2 looks worse then the m240i (in my opinion) the G80/82 grew on me but can’t see it happening with this or even the new m2🤦🏼

I’ve seen this car in person and no matter what I do I can’t get myself to like it. The F10 and G30 which were stunning and muscular. They were just well executed products. This car looks like it got into an accident and was fixed half assed. Who the hell are the designers and who are they trying to appeal to??

Looks like I'm the minority here but I think it looks quite nice in this setup. Not a big fan of the stripe decal though.

Dont worry guys, we get accostumed to anything and they know it... With time new owners will come and they will be pretty excited and everybody will start accepting the design. For example, I still hate the current big teeth 4 series but next to the new 5er it kinda looks not so bad 🤣🤣🤣 I don't know if I started to get accostumed or if the new 5er is that ugly that it makes even the big tooth monstruosity look acceptable.

Is bashing the new 5 just the trendy thing to do now? I don’t see any similarities at all except the basic shape of a sedan.

They seem to be adding these cheeseball side skirts to everything these days and it looks awful on everything. Takes away all the aggression from the angular side view of any car IMO

Seriously. They're not even close to resembling one another, other than the fact that they're both taillights on cars.

Before firing your keyboard, know that I was eagerly waiting for the new M5 It is still in my play but not for the looks. I started also debating getting a 2023, as it looks better though it is basic shape of sedan Your comment just tells me you know very little about car designs

Objectively speaking that angle you posted - is still the better angle. Sadly its the confused little budget eyes from X1 that this car has that looks weak. At least on pics, as I want to see it in real life before commenting definitively.

I'm liking this design. Right amount of aggression with sophistication. Not so sure about the tail lights though... The vertical effect is looking too dated for my taste. Performance parts on this model 👎

Imo, BMW is a company that takes risks and push boundaries. I accept that with the 4 Series and iX and even the new M2. To NOT follow is hard... to innovate and break new ground is even harder.
This, imo, is doing neither. I don't see BMW in this design, rather Toyota. My takeaway from this is that even BMW can make mistakes every now and again. Unfortunately, this has befallen the new 5. |
