or just get a nice set of Nokian studded winter tires.
 (if your state allows them in the winter)I've had them on two of my previous RWD sedans. They allowed me to drive in winter with more confidence than any AWD car/SUV with all season tires. picture below shows a driveway that's almost as steep as the one at my old house. with the Nokian studded tires, even my RWD sedan rarely had problem going up unless the snow was more than 6 inches. with my AWD SUV's all season tires, it could get up there, but not until the wheels spin back and forth while the car decides where to send power.
