Hi all,
Strange been working like normal, but last night and still this morning my app won’t update charge/charging state at all? Once plugged in I get the notification (charge will hit target 80% at 8:15pm). But it won’t update, went and sat in car and it’s at 80% with phone still showing 77% from when I got home. I deleted app thinking that might help, but nothing. Anyone else have this happen or know easy fix?

Oh man I’ve been having the same issue, i even removed the car from the app and now i can’t add it back. Essentially my car keeps saying no signal or reception.
I guess it’s not just me…

I also noticed navigation takes longer to load etc as well.

Not always, but almost always this is a BMW server issue. You can also try going into System Settings and deactivating all data and privacy and then holding down the volume scroll wheel and re-boot i-Drive. Now, go back into System Settings and re-check all data and privacy settings (allow them). Re-boot i-Drive again. Many, many times this fixes the app not communicating for me. Good luck.

On Weds, I could not set a precondition via my app, and my app said Door unlocked and the range and % on the app did not match my car. On Saturday (yesterday)...app and car were communicating!

My app is missing 50% of my charging cycles. I know I charged the car but it doesn’t show up. I can also drive somewhere and the trip doesn’t show either. This is the new app. When I did beta testing, I wasn’t assigned those features, I wonder if anyone was.

My car is now NOT updating battery % and range to the app. I was able to send a climate command, but nothing else will update.

Add me to the list. Happening to me today for the first time. At first I was concerned there was something wrong with my ChargePoint or the breaker tripped. It was updating for some portion of the charge, as the app is showing a percentage higher than when I plugged it in. But it does not think the car is charging. Tried unplugging and plugging back in again to no avail.

Interestingly, I did confirm that remote commands (lock, unlock, 3D view) are all still working even while the charge status is not updating.

This is kind of a key functionality, so I hope they figure this out. Seems like a BMW side problem.

Same. SOC not updating in app. BMW really needs to hire someone from Tesla’s software department. That app is rock solid.

I've said for years if BMW and Tesla merged...they would be the most unstoppable car maker in the world.

Our XM is also not updating range, SOC or charging status.

For all the M A N Y faults my Tesla Model Y had....man the app was 100% flawless always. I mean not a single fault or outage ever!

Furthermore: my recent DC charge session is not showing in the monthly charge statistics (even the app has the record).

I just texted our awesome long time Sales Rep. at our BMW dealer and he said his new i4 is affected too. His car is plugged in and charging, but the app does not reflect this and his SOC % and range are totally wrong.

This must be a BIG problem, for this to go on this long...or is BMW unaware? :-o

LOL, I was just about to post about this but I saw this post first. Same for me. It started after I un-enrolled from the ChargeForward program a day or two ago so I thought it had something to do with that, but since so many others are having the same issue, I guess it's just a general issue right now.

I hope they fix it soon because I like seeing the SOC in the app and I like to see when it's charging and not charging.

Same here, all other commands appear to work, and the car did charge to 80% when I plugged it in last night, just not updating state of charge in the app.

Nice to know that a lot of folks are having the same problem. I was about to call the BMW Genius about it. I'm guess it must be on their radar given that it seems to be widespread.

I am facing a similar issue with my 2024 X5 50e, and I plan to contact BMW to report it. It appears to be a server-related problem that needs their attention.

It was the last app update, they should roll back the code and put the old version back until they have it fixed. But, since that haven’t I would suspect an update is coming soon.

Agree it is server side; I updated the app and it worked fine on current version until this weekend.

Has anyone talked to BMW/Genius/ConnectedDrive support about it? Was going to call, but it is usually an exercise in frustration and I figure with this being so apparently widespread they must be aware.

Our BMW rep at our local dealer texted me about 30 mins that in addition to his app not working correctly for is i4, he has lost traffic info, Spotify and a few other things.

He said at around 9am PST he is filing a report with BMW to let them know how many of us are affected (I really hope BMW already know how serious and widespread this is).

For me, the app also doesn't show the correct values for "Current limit for AC charging", "Unlock charging cable automatically", and "DC fan noise emissions".

Hopefully they get this fixed soon.
