4 zone climate.....what's the final word on this for US models?

I thought this was a no go? However, I saw a video from a US dealer the other day on Youtube who was able to get it on their i5 M60.

I tried to get it, and was told it was not an option for the broker to order off schedule options. I would have appreciated at least the vents in the B Pillar, but I gave up. Besides I don't anticipate a lot of rear seat passengers in mine. I have no children at home. SO just the occasional visitors might be it.

Good info, thanks. That’s a $650 option?

What’s the option order code for this feature? It’ll save everybody time if we can just give them the code up front and tell them they just need to request the override from BMW NA/USA.

What is the standard zone set-up? Do rear passengers get the same temperature as the driver?

Yes, essentially just 2 vents tied to driver set up. Also have the heated seats button there if you have that option

I am still baffled this 4 zone climate was not an option for US cars anyway. Most, if not all of us here would have ordered it. Same for the M Sport emblems on the fenders. If all the rest of the world's MSport/MSport PRO 5ers have them, why not put them on US cars as well? For that matter, why only offer the 540iX with the B58 Inline 6 for US market only unless you buy the 550e? If the fuel efficiency is almost the same as for the 530i available pretty much worldwide, why deprive the rest of the world of a more powerful vehicle? Is it a Government approval thing? A marketing thing? An availability of parts thing? These are things inquiring minds would like to know. I wonder if someone in the know would post here to explain these things. I have pretty much seen all these questions throughout the Forum with no answers.

The lack of side M badging is a constant question on the iX forum as well. Seems that someone at BMWNA decided that for some unknown reason we would not receive them.

None of the M-light models on any model have badging here on the side….most people don’t want them. It’s not a real M car.

Not on normal order entry. Have to have regional rep from BMW NA add to order.

But the rest of the world gets the side badging? Why are we left out? And many do want them - the iX forum has tons of folks who bought them for their M60s and installed them on their own.

I think America obsesses over what a "real M Car" is vs. isn't and which vehicles should or shouldn't have specific badging more so than the Germans who made them. It makes me laugh every time.

I do think it's absurd to change your vehicle's badging from let's say a 530 or 330 to an M3 or M5, but the MSport side badges are just personal preference, and are done so with BMW's blessing at the factory for most regions of the world.

If people have MSport packages on their vehicles, and the only thing that prevents them from being installed at the factory is a BMW NA decision, then hey, put them on like their Euro counterparts, imho.

have to go through BMW individual to get the 4 zone climate. Your dealer will need to fill out a form to request the 4NB option with wholesale and MSRP pricing. Submit it and it is approved. No delay to the order.

you can get them with some vehicles with a port installed accessory (VIA) on the M340i, X3 M40i, X4 M40i, X5 M60i, and X6 M60i with the black emblems package. You'll get black badges on the rear and the side fenders.

I agree with you ToddRGuy. I look at it this way - if the badging is provided as standard equipment on the exact same cars for the European market, then I don't think there is anything wrong with putting them on the US cars as aftermarket OEM parts. It's not making the car anything it isn't, it's just bringing it up to the same standard as the same car in the rest of the world.

I wonder if BMW just figures that it's a way to get more money from those capitalist Americans who will buy the parts anyway if we don't put them on their cars. LOL

Well, it's gonna work on me. lol. I'm buying the damn things, because I think they look sharp. Even though I'm only buying a 540 with MSport stuff. I'm well beyond the age, where I care what anyone thinks other than myself.

My biggest conflict, is if I get the silver ones or the black ones to go on Carbon Black
