Respectfully disagree. Cameras alone won’t solve the autonomous drive problem as not everywhere is well lit eg think foggy day. Will always be mixed for the best and safest implementations. You then have to add the machine learning challenges behind any system given how probe they are to failure in situations they have not been trained in. A year or two ago colleagues were active in this area and even changing a few pixels in an image can cause false identification.

I am sorry to say but none of the designs since since the reveal of the new 4 series, m3, and m4 have been elegant. BMW just lost their mind on what cohesive aesthetic is. Sure it's in your face bold, but is it in a pleasing way ; I beg to differ.

I’ve read too that driver input is also part of the reason full self drive isn’t working. Human interaction ruins things |

I am open to new designs, Hey I bought the G82 and love the look including the grill.
However WTF is that front end. BMW are clearly trying to win first place in some environmental degregation award. If this design is right then I am out. Personal opinion of course and looks are totally subjective.

Like all current generation M cars imo…a step forward in engineering & a step sideways/backward in design.

Despite what some of the negative Nanci's may say, I think it's a very sexy new M5. Of course this is subjective (the looks) but that ugly front grill is an easy fix. As long as this car doesn't weigh too much, I think it's going to easily knock the competition out of the park in every regard. Can't wait to see the production version soon...

Dont hate it, dont love it. But boy did I hate the G80 when it came out, loving it now. So not gonna judge the car until I see it in reality. Interestingly when reading through comments, not much middle ground same as G80, you either love it or hate it. Nobody gives it a "meh"
However, the part I dislike the most in this generation are the rear lights. I dont like the X4 and X6 rear, it looks incomplete and not cohesive at all. |
