I’m most excited to see the same people that don’t like the design go ahead and end up ordering one.

This is going to look awesome in person. I like how aggressive it is. Can’t wait to see it. Def going to upgrade from my f90 probably second model year. As long as the performance is also great. Excited for this generation

Damn this looks MEAN! So glad to see all models of BMW have their own individual design language, gone are the days of models 1-7 looking like a carbon copy.

My life will go on…. to an Aston Martin Vantage. I have several criteria for choosing my performance cars. And aesthetics is ALWAYS number one on the list.

At this point, I would rather wish I was the owner of this company so I could custom-make a G90 with the newer engine in the F90 chassis
Personally,
I’d put an S58 inside of an F80.

I don't know if I shpuld wait and order this or get the current M5/M8 Competition!
Everyone is criticizing the design, but no one is talking about the horrible XM drivetrain.
The AMG GT 63S E Performance has 840 hp hybrid drivetrain but barely beat the M5 in a drag race.
I'm so worried about the rumored 718hp of the upcoming M5. I feel this power is very low for a heavy hybrid M5. I don't believe it is gonna quicker than this M5 generation or the M5 CS.

In October 2022 they ditched the ultrasonic sensors completely, relying now on the existing cameras for close object detection. His MY was built this spring. He says it’s total crap for parking, nowhere near as good.

It likely saved $10-15/car (being serious, that’s huge savings on a high volume car), but now their “high-tech” image has taken a huge hit. This guy is 34 yrs old and is right on top of tech in general (smart home automation etc) and his first comment when I asked him how he liked his new car was that the tech is WAY oversold. He does like the car overall, just not as much as he should.

There is absolutely no doubt this car will be sold out immediately.
If this will be sold out (and I doubt it will if they mess the drivetrain up even a little bit), nothing in there is because of the design, it’s all the engineering. The new C63S didn’t flop because of design, no one said it was ugly, it was the poor engineering. The G80/82 is selling because it’s a good car despite the moron at the helm of BMW design

So wrong. The E60 launched with everyone talking about how ugly it was, then F10 launched with massive acclaim, hailing BMWs return to form in styling.

The E60 is still ugly. The F10 still looks great. This is the new E60, the new ugly M5.

Well put. But should we be expecting anything less from BMW's current designers, enchanted as they seem to be with angularity and bulbousness? Bovine nostrils for a grille; a grimacing rictus for a lower lip/splitter, with a flattering underbite; squinty tail-lights; and a hybridised V8 whose acoustics are no doubt going to be watered down to the muted bare minimum. What's not to like? It's going to take more than a pair of marginally flared rear fenders to redeem this one!

Don’t forget about the tall, gorky look the new battery-friendly chassis delivers. Sad to think the M5 station wagon will share this aesthetic.
