M Badges - Black and Silver Examples
Hi All,
I was looking through my accessories to be installed on my future 540, and thought I’d take the time to take some pictures of the two different versions of M Side/Wing badges I have. Still contemplating about which ones to install; time will tell. After AiredaleDad reported that his BMW dealer’s part number was not an iteration of the black BMW ones, I decided to order a pair (not inexpensive in comparison to black) as they are sold individually. For reference, here are the part numbers and descriptions: • BMW OEM Gloss Black Fender Badge set P/N: 51-14-5-A4B-373 • BMW OEM Silver Fender badges (Not set) P/N: 51-14-5-A4C-E12 There is indeed a notable size difference. Best guess for the measurements +/- 1-2mm Silver - 22mm H x 68mm L Black - 19mm H x 57mm L I figured I would record this for posterity as it might help someone in the future 😊 |

Good info to have! Thanks! I was wondering about this not long ago and couldn't find any measurements for both.

Correct. According to the dealer here, the part number that it shows for the 5er's here in Europe are the larger silver ones, so I had them install those. (Want to be as OEM as I can for the purist in me.) The black ones look cool too, as on Sky King's.

Not sure that that's the case in all of them. There is a smaller silver one, the same size as the black one SkyKingUSA has and ToddRGuy purchased. My dealer showed them to me. That is the initial one he ordered. But when he looked up the part number for the G60, the part indicated is the larger one. Could it be due to the larger overall size of the vehicle, and the size of the fenders themselves, they put the larger one on so the smaller one would not look tiny in comparison?
