My timeline:
2/28 ordered
3/4 VIN assigned and slated for production 3/20
3/18 In the paint booth
3/19 Entering assembly line
3/20 Quality check

I checked the shipping schedule from Bremerhaven to Port Hueneme and the next ship leaves on 3/27. From other people's builds it looks like there's a chance the car could get transported to the port in time for the 3/27 ship date. And the next shipping date isn't until 4/7. Does anyone think a 3/27 shipping date is likely?

Edit: Does it ship from Bremerhaven or Belgium?

If the car was built in the Dingolfen plant, I'm pretty sure it ships out of Bremerhaven.

I thought it ships from Bremerhaven too, but when my status first hit "In Transit" I called the genius line and they told me that the car was loaded on the ship at Zeebrugge, Belgium. So perhaps it varies a little. I can only go by what the genius line told me.

Good luck with your wait pfannenstiel. Waiting seems to be the toughest part!

Regarding the loading port, presuming what I was told is true, I still suspect that most cars are probably loaded on the ships at Bremerhaven but maybe BMW shuffles things around a little to help keep cars moving on down the line.

It left from Bremerhaven but was already at its next port which was Zeebrugge. It took 6 days for my app to finally switch to in transit and by then I was already heading across the Atlantic towards Halifax.

The usual route is from Brem to Zee and then to Halifax before hitting the US east coast. For the west coast it normally shots straight down around Florida to the Panama Canal skipping Halifax.

Your cars first stop after the factory is Bremerhaven. It was loaded on the Viking Queen on the 12th of February. By the time it flipped to in transit the boat had just left Zeebrugge Belgium.

You need to update your timeline.

Sometimes vehicles do go directly to Belgium from the factory for loading at the Belgium port. Bremerhaven is the port for most but not all.

That may have been what happened to mine because the person on the Genius line was very specific about the port and boarding. She actually told me the date and time that the car arrived at the port, and the date and time it was later loaded onto the ship (which was a few hours after it arrived). It just seemed too specific for me to disbelieve it.

Maybe mine was one of those rare exceptions.

Yup. I can see that happening. I was thinking of Gothenburg and was wondering why they would ship it on 2 separate vessels. I could see them shipping from Belgium if Bremerhaven was getting backed up.

Yes, I had a similar experience. It was fun to see how the ship progressed across the ocean.

I jinxed myself thinking the car would already be completely assembled and on its way to the port by now. My car is still in quality check. Anyone else have that happen with their i5/5 series build? I saw that other series have had this happen but there's no clear consensus on why, maybe backlog of cars or maybe missing a part, or how long-some owners it took weeks to get moving again.
