New free EA charging plan for 2025 models.
It would seem BMW is changing the free EA charging program for 2025 models (at least the i4, i5, and iX). This is found on the BMW website for the 2025 iX model:
"As a 2025 BMW iX driver, you’ll also enjoy complimentary charging with Electrify America for 2 years or 1,000 kWh whichever comes first. 1,000 kWh is an estimated 3,000 miles of driving based on average EPA values of i4, i5, and iX model variants. Miles may vary due to model configuration, driving style and conditions." So, it would seem if you want the free 30 minutes of charging for two years, you might want to grab a 2024 model. |

Interesting....the complimentary charging was not available as an accessory when I was building the 2025 i5 xDrive out a month ago and I made sure it showed up in the lease order spec sheet. Now I'm seeing it show up as an available accessory in the online i5 builder and it matches what you posted so guessing that is what I will be receiving instead of the 30minutes. My spec sheet has generic "ZZZ - Complimentary Public Charging Program For Eligible Customers" listed.

I also saw that on the iX configurator. Given the crowding at EA stations, this will truly encourage people to charge at home and only use L3 when needed. I wonder if other manufacturers will change to something similar to improve the chronic crowded.

I wonder what the average usage of the free offer has been? I don't have an electrify America close by so I've used it only once.

I haven't used mine once yet (since delivery on March 21). I think it just depends on whether you have level 2 at home or not, and whether you do long trips regularly.

I used it once to try it out, but charging at home costs about $30 a month. I’d rather pay that then waste time sitting at a charger. I would rather they just give us X number of minutes to use while you own the car or during your lease term.
