Comfort exit setting

Can somebody please tell me how this option works? Mine is turned on, but my seat doesn't adjust when I get out of the car. I'm assuming it's supposed to either slide all the way back. If it's not all the way back or adjust in some kind of way. My steering wheel goes up, but my seat is not moving regardless if it's all the way up or not. I can't find anything in the manual on that setting

It should slide the seat back when unbuckling the seatbelt and slide the seat forward when buckling the seatbelt. I think the steering wheel movement happens when the car is turned on and off.

Yeah, that's not what mine's doing. It's supposed to slide back to make easy exiting, but no matter how close it is to the steer. Ing wheel, mine's not sliding back. I'm going to try to do Soft reboot of the eye drive. Can anybody else confirm theirs is working like that? I don't believe we call it ever doing it at all. I know the setting is there and it's turned on

My i5 behaves as LVBMW describes - it’s the act of buckling/unbuckling the belt that triggers the comfort access for me.

Mine moves back slightly but not far enough for my husband to get in. When I put on my seatbelt, the seat moves all the way back and down to the floor. Then it moves back to my position. It did not fix itself with a reset. It’s been like this since the OTA. It adds 30 seconds until I can start driving.

I would try updating Apps and Services after the Soft Idrive reset Because initially I did a soft reset that didn't work. But then I went in after about 15 min and updated apps and services and it actually started working so that may need to be done and also I believe mine stopped working after I got the last OTA update.

Using the seatbelt as the trigger for seat movement is a major problem for me. I am 6'3" which is not unusually tall and not overweight and the damn seat slides so far forward it is hard to get out of the car. I never noticed this until the latest software update.

I'm not sure what you mean. When unbuckling the belt, your seat should move back so it's easier to get in and out. When you buckle the belt, the seat should move to your saved position. Why does your seat slide so far forward?

Mine does not slide all the way back, either. My 6’3” husband has trouble getting in after me. Mine doesn’t slide back until I get in and put on my seat belt. When I unbuckle to get out, it moves back about an inch from my set position.

I'm 6'-3" and tried the seat retract setting at first until the time that it crushed my spousal unit behind me like the trash compactor in Star Wars. Turned it off and don't miss it. It's still easy for me to get in and out without it.

When I unbuckle the seatbelt, the seat moves forward. When I buckle, the seat moves backward.

That's opposite to what it should be doing. Weird.

I saw something in the owners manual where you can calibrate the seats.

Calibrating the front seats

General

As soon as the electric seat adjustment no longer
functions precisely, a Check Control message
is displayed on the control display.
To restore the accuracy of the electric seat setting,
the front seats must be calibrated.

Calibrating the front seats
1. Push the switch forward again in a longitudinal
direction until the seat stops.
2. Push and hold the switch forward repeatedly
until the seat no longer moves forward.
3. Reset the desired seat position.
As soon as the message on the control display
disappears, the calibration is complete.
If the message remains active, repeat the calibration.
If the message is not hidden after repeated
calibration, have the system checked by an authorised
Service Partner or another qualified
Service Partner or a specialist workshop.
