Thx for sharing those. The bolsters moving in when in sport mode (if this is for US builds) is interesting and something I think I'd really like. And that white m60 looks great rolling. Even slowly rolling.

We absolutely love our i7 xDrive60, but that's the sig other's car. I'm thinking M60 will be my ride next summer when we roll off a Jeep lease. It's really growing on me

Here are some more links to the i5 reviews published today.
No big surprises here; People generally liked the more subdued styling (compared to i7 and iX), the interior build quality, smooth ride and handling were also high points but the bigger size and weight of the car are still noticeable. I think overall the review is very positive and BMW definitely did not fumble this one.
It should give us (me) a lot of confidence to complete the purchase. Now just wait for the shipment and see it in person. |

Great reviews. Excited to test it out, and potentially replace my car.
I’m disappointed in the range for the M60…but atleast BMW range estimates are conservative (based on my experience with our iX). |

Ive watched some of the reviews and it seems that most are positive. I need to get my hands on one personally so I can make my own assessments. I still want to see how big it is as in most of the vids and pics it seems rather large

Looks like an impressive vehicle overall from the reviews. Would love to see this in the US in wagon form.
I’m thinking with EVs needing lower drag coefficients, we will start to see the return of the wagon in the US. With an air suspension, they can still offer higher ride height when needed, the same cargo capacity as an SUV, and lower ride height when at high speeds. Would love to see an i5 in wagon form, would be a temping prospect as I would prefer that over the i4 personally. |

The Seats
Unfortunately no multi-contours and no soft close doors. Sport seat doesn't have side bolster adjust but does have lumbar + manual leg extension and manual headrest. Multifunction seat is similar to ix/x1, has side bolster adjustment + electronic leg extension and headrest adjustment. According to my centers GM, they said they deleted it because of low take rate on G30.

Is the spread hands and surprised face the defacto, universal car vlogger stance?
Side note: interesting to see the license plates are no longer (at least here) starting with M (Münich) but DFG (Dingolfing).

The i5 M60 seems like it’ll be good for folks who want decent performance and electric. It seems it’s about as fast as the G30 M550i in a straight line but would fall behind in corners or a course (no surprise). Is an M560e coming or not? I don’t feel like anything has taken the equivalent place of the M550i yet (even without a V8 apparently).

It's a bit of a relief tbh, first car I ever buying without test driving or seeing any reviews.
I did see it in person when my dealership had a prototype and I knew right away I wanted it. The XM was a bit of a dud so I was worried lol. Last edited by Feb30th; 10-02-2023 at 11:16 AM.. |

Well I guess we’ll start to hear from folks as they get their cars delivered , presumably anytime now
In terms of size , yes it is large , I’ve seee it in the metal in Munich but difficult to gauge compared to say the g30 as there wasn’t a car next to it for comparison As I’ve mentioned elsewhere , if it follows the f10 and g30, I would expect other options to appear 6 and 12 months later. Just my guess but would assume individual colours, Alcantara headlining would be amongst those Soft close doors? Who knows Whilst the car isn’t for me personally, I’m disappointed with the choice of IVE engines destined for the U.K. looks like at least for now, only 4 cylinders which I think is a shame. I can understand in the current climate no v8 but the i6 is a big miss if you don’t want to or cannot go full EV and are coming from a g30 with 6 or even 8 cylinders |

If I want to buy a premium sedan, why I don’t buy a Tesla S instead of i5?
( faster, more room in the back, way way better range, better cargo space, reliable charging infrastructure, having a useful frunk), and believe me, most of people don’t care about the panel gaps! BMW (and the rest of Germans) have to step up their game if they want compete with tesla. Just look at tesla sales numbers. |

I need zero storage as my husband has an F-150 Lightning with loads of space with the crew cab, covered truck bed and frunk. I see a lot of Teslas, for sure, but that is because of the superior charging network. My next door neighbor has 2, but he’s just a working class guy wanting to save on fuel, so he bought used. There are a lot on used car lots where I live for under $30k. Great option for a family car. The reviews mentioned executive sedan with the i5 and that is their market. |

They're Toyota, Kia, Subaru, Tesla customers. Those who look like convenient, cheap, loads of storage, low quality build. With this logic, on the ICE side, you'd be driving a RAV4 or something, you know, cheaper parts, cheap to run - you don't care about build quality anyway. i5 has better build, better comfort, way quieter ride, way better breaks, better suspension, better seats, better tech features, better interior and exterior design. Model S is good if you're an uber driver and/or your car taste isn't sophisticated enough so that you can ignore all the quality related things. I mean the cars are built to be driven. Driving any BMW sedan is a better experience than driving any Tesla. 330i driver's seat is a better place than Model S Plaid, let alone i5.

Kidding right? All the currently available German EVs are better vehicles overall than the any comparable/non-comparable Tesla. Tesla might have the range, and charging network, but they lack in everything else (it’s not even close) and if that’s all you care about, than Tesla is for you. I don’t need Tesla’s range nor do I need their charging network, so there is no other reason for me to pick a Tesla over any other premium EV. And there is no excuse for panel gap on any car. |

Range is important especially if you live in US, especially in north. In subzero temperatures you can not drive these “premium German car” more than 100 miles before you get nervous. The other thing is having a drive shaft tunnel is an electric car! Why? Yeah because they want to use the same body of their ICE car. An electric car doesn’t need to have a long overhang bonnet and a drive shaft tunnel ( like i7 and i5). Anyhow, market will talk. Tesla consumers return in 67%, average luxury brand 46 percent. I’m enjoying my M2, but driving my tesla when I feel to drive an electric car. This is my second tesla and BMW has to work harder to get even close to tesla, despite the comparable price range. Just look at I4 vs tesla 3 sales numbers. |
