You should call. The guy I talked to had a lot of information including my original date to be shipped before the recall and my new scheduled ship date.

So I went ahead and made the call to the BMW Genius. They said the stop sale did not affect anything with shipping. Turns out I am just waiting in line for a ship to be assigned to. Up to 30 days waits have been normal. I am fortunate my delivery route does not include the red sea. Most ships going south around Africa instead of the Suez canal. This can add 2 weeks to travel times.

The Don Pasquale is the next Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship to load and leave Germany heading to our areas. It departs Germany on the 29th or 30th of December. Hopefully we both are on it. I can not see the schedules of the other shipping lines in port at Germany but maybe we get on one of the earlier ones from another shipping line.

I am apparently still waiting for a truck to Seattle. My SA told me yesterday, that I was going to be loaded in a truck that day and the dealership should receive my vehicle in 6-7 days. My garage says At the Port, so I am thinking I was assigned to a carrier and not yet picked up. Not sure if many truckers pick up loads for long destinations, since it has a 3 day trip to Seattle and holidays are coming up.

Thanks for this thread! My i5 eDrive 40 has been at Port Hueneme for the past 10 days; asked my dealer about it last night and the whole Stop Sale issue was revealed to me. Hopefully this will be corrected in a few days, but sheesh....!

Stop sale is just an update for the exterior warning sounds when driving slowly. This should be done at the dealer. Waiting at port in the US can be several things. The longest of which is customs from what I have been told. After that they will create a work order for your car to address anything that needs to be fixed before going to your dealer. My car in New Jersey had a work order started yesterday so it should be in transit to the dealer really soon.

For those on the Donington, it's currently docked in Baltimore.
May the processing be swift! (Doesn't have the same ring as "May the Force Be With You" but I never claimed to be a writer) |

Just switched to "At the port" -- now to keep checking the recall tool to see when they've updated the software

Plug your VIN in here: https://bmw-recall-tool.netlify.app/
Likely you've got a line item there that's listed as "no recall" which is just a software update that needs to be applied. If your car was produced before the fix (which most of ours were) it needs to be applied before heading to the dealer. When it switches from "open" to "closed" it's been done. |
