Suspension, wheels, and aesthetics; and let's be honest with ourselves, that's all most people are doing now with ICE BMWs anyway. We're in EVs infancy right now. Who knows what will be available to the modding crowd down the road? I can see my next BMW being electric.

The new i5 design presents an age old question: at what price point reluctance to accept the new design will be overcome.

Waiting for sales updates from BMW.

The rear end is beautiful except those black things which will be nice if are replaced by CF.
Lets wait to see how they finish the front end for M5 but overall IMO its a nice car…

Why couldn’t they design a better looking kidney with the adaptive tech not slapped in the middle? This kills the heritage piece; there’s a base model with a perfectly designed kidney and then the top of the line gets this hodge podge? After thought?

Data to support this? I honestly don’t know if that is a fact but I’d like to. Are we talking in North America or Global?

You need a radar at that height for drive assist/ self driving features that are fairly limited. There is no getting around it, the bumper mounted radar only works for collision avoidance, it’s there in the Merc too if the feature is offered.

That’s why it’s in top of the line model.

Looks good. These will sell well.
What’s up with those door handles? Do you like them up to open the door?

some angles work better on this car, for example this one.

definitely need some nice sized wheels as well. the one in the picture are 20s.

as the car grew taller, the pictures taken from down low doesn't do justice on the car.

Couldn’t they have located inside on of the kidney’s on the i5? For the ICE- it’s blocking the intake.

I just think they could have placed better in a way that complimented the design. Perhaps make it more invisible?

This week will be the first time I won't have a BMW in the garage in over 20 years. I'm not missing much. I have not gotten use to the new X7 front end and this is ugly.

I can’t remember the numbers- but bmw released the numbers and it outsold x2 and z4. Truth be told- x2 isn’t in production. But outsold the slow selling z4 by a lot.

BMW 5 series sales up 15%

Frustrating for fans of the 90s. Sort of like the band u2- some of their best music in the 80s and 90’s ceased in the 2000s.

I found new bands- music . With BMW we are always hoping for that perfect record or album to come out that really feeds the soul. But this isn’t a music company. And I realize design and innovation shouldn’t really feed my soul either.

Perhaps we are confusing art and soul with car passion.

That grille. Uggh. I get it, they need sensors with all the new tech. But if they don’t need it for air intake for an engine why can’t they subtly put it in the grille. Whoever accepted “I just threw a rectangle in the front” should be fired.

I’ve had a few 5 series in the past, loved them size was great and had a muscular stance.
This one not so much, looks bland to me especially the rear and side view.
