I know you can get a front facing camera display in the instrument cluster (it's called "AR" I believe), but I've never seen this on the main screen. I don't even know what it would be called or how to get it to display what I'm seeing in the attached picture. And how do you get it to display on a split screen with a map or nav on the reduced right side?

There’s a setting I can’t remember exactly where in display that offers a choice between the driver display and control display

I found the manual page showing how to switch the central display (instrument cluster) and attach the instructions. The manual also seems to suggest that AR view is not available in all models, but if you can bring it up in the iDrive display then it should be available in the instrument cluster display as well. I haven't received my car yet so I cannot check but I hope it helps.

But wouldn't that only put this on the instrument cluster?

What I am trying to figure out, is how to get that up on the main, curved, center display as pictured in the OP picture.

Yes, that's my point. I'm trying to figure out how to get that on the large center display.

Can you think of a way to do this. From the picture it seems like there's a way to do this, but I can't figure it out.

If you have the right equipment there is a forward facing camera view you can switch to anytime in your instrument cluster. What you’re showing here is the augmented reality navigation that shows up when you have BMW nav taking you to a destination. That you can have either in the instrument cluster or the main screen. You can choose which by going to navigation > settings > guidance > augmented view. Search augmented view in the manual to read more.

I keep my AR on the center display as well. I find it distracting on the dash in front of me. And I love getting to my final destination.

This is such a cool option. Feeling better and better about my switch from Tesla. Can't wait to try all of these options out.

That term "final destination" sounds ominous. My wife, who is a bit dentist phobic can relate. LOL

I only get the augmented view arrows when using the BMW nav. Does not show when I use Waze.

Yes, I think it only works with the native nav system. But it's very cool.
