Yes and no. I just had ppf installed on my headlights yesterday as a matter of fact, and it does not affect light output. I've had them on my 2021 SRT since new and no issues. So, I recommend you go for it.

My friend just got a nasty crack on his right headlight. He was about to just buy a headlight housing to replace it himself. He thought that there was no sense in filing an insurance claim on something that costs less than his $1000 deductible. WRONG! The parts dept quoted him $3,827 because housing was all one piece. He filed the claim and paid the $1000 deductible. GEICO process the claim the same day. (more than $4500 because of the bodyshop labor) |

I have PPF on my headlights and they work fine. You cant even tell the PPF is there, that's kinda the whole point I guess.
Headlights and bumper are the most vulnerable parts of a car to rock chips and road sandblasting - theyll look like shit 8-10 years from now if you dont PPF.

PPF on my headlights. No issues. Just make sure you use clear PPF and not like colored PPF.

I think he/she/they/them are still on the fence and unsure and needs more reassurance.

I bought a precut headlight kit from Xpel. Took a while because they kept sending me the wrong kit. After a 1 month, they sent the right ones. Maybe i was the first person to buy them.
Been a couple years now and no complaints. Better than nothing... |

Sort-of, when you order the extended shadow trim the standard headlights r gray tinted. XPEL has a ppf color that matches the shadow trim light color. I tried to get pictures to show the dif but beyond my capabilities. The Z4 has clear xpel, X5 shadow option (+ clear xpel). Thinking about replacing clear with the gray on the z4 headlights only.

Even if you don't PPF anything else on the car, it's worth it on the headlights. They are super expensive to replace and the PPF also is an effective UV inhibitor unlike waxes and coatings.
