I5 M60 loud noise when turning the wheels

Hey everyone,

My I5 makes really loud annoying “metal breaking” noises when I step on the brake and turn the wheels all the way left and right. The dealer said it’s normal. The car drives fine and zero noise, only happens when I step on the brakes while turning the wheel. My 2024 x7 does the same but not as loud, and the x3 they loaned me does the same but not as loud. Anyone else notice the noise to be louder with the i5?

I haven't noticed that on my i5. Although, I've never really listened for anything like that. Seems like something I would have noticed though if it was loud enough.

I’ve never heard that noise in any of my past 5 BMWs since 2013. Sounds like a dodge or ford issue, definitely shouldn’t be a BMW issue where your embarrassed if you have a passenger in the car.

Thanks for the replies, I think I’ll bring it to another BMW dealer and them take a look.

I tried today after posting that, and I couldn’t make it happen, now, I did notice my driver door makes noises as I open and shut it. Thanks, I think?

Oh that sucks. I guess the car has some minor issues for everyone.
