They’re literally just for fun. The guy from Edmunds on the Carcast podcast talks about them all the time. He straight up said they are for fun and to compare cars that wouldn’t normally be compared.

We’re all entitled to our opinion on if it’s entertaining or not. But that’s all it is.

Agreed! High entertainment factor and low practical value.

When BMW launches an electric quad-motor M3/M4 with second-to-none torque vectoring envelope, this car will be compared to almost anything else with four wheels.

Whenever BMW does release such Quad-Motor M3/M4, they best be considering a minimum of 700Hp,...and up to 800-900Hp. If not, why would someone consider the M3/M4 over a 600Hp dual motor Model 3.

I think it’s interesting to see how the sedan does against the competition coup from a performance perspective. A performance sedan is a more challenging engineering task. Not comparable. But an interesting comparison.
