530e G61 Emergency release for gas lid snapped

Hey guys,
So the car was delievered from factory with a gas lid that refuses to open, the green plastic emergency release in the boot was the only way to open it til this morning. I was pulling on it as Ive done before, not yanking it, but simply pulling slowly til it pops open. This time it snapped.

My question here is, is this new issue a simple replacement or does it mean ripping out more than the interior to attach a new shitty plastic release I have an appointment in a week for the initial problem...

Any input would be appreciated

In BMWs I’ve had (dont’ have G60), the back of the filler port and the filler neck is accessed from the wheel arch after tediously removing the splash shield(s) held on with multiple different fasteners which makes reinstalling it even more fun than removing it. So I’d expect the dealer would need to remove the boot side carpeting as well as the wheel arch to replace the filler door mechanism and connect a new manual release cable.

Vitoco Hard to believe they let you take the car if the button on the dash for releasing the flap and "refuelling possible" was not working or it was displaying the message after you activated it but not opening due to faulty mechanism. That is major and pretty poor by the dealer.

Good luck getting it fixed promptly.

Well, that sucks. Quite a lot. Exactly what I was dreading. But no way around it I guess. Will be fun driving the Active Tourer-loaner for a few days

They did, showed me the emergency release and it was supposed to be easily fixed. I was just happy the car was in my hands
