Should we ban Range Rover products from garage decks as they may be the kindling for further fires?

I consider Range Rover as the underbrush of the automotive industry.

When we go camping we often bring a Range Rover product to help get the campfire going quickly.

No, step away from the misinformation.

Why not? It goes to show the day to day running of an EV that is on the go and not having the comfort of home charging and I did say UK specific.

The point remains though that whatever was the initial event the presence of a number of EVs in the carpark meant a match + a can of fuel situation.
It was suspected to be an EV so when they show a pic of it then I'll know to stop the guessing.

Unless the suspected Range Rover diesel had an electrical short in some electrical system component how would a fire self start in a parked ICE diesel vehicle?

Because EV batteries have oxygen, fuel (lithium), and heat within the battery itself, improper heat management is what causes a runaway EV battery fire to start. That is why EV fires are different, EV have the necessary elements for a fire to self ignite and remain lit. It is much more plausible that a parked EV will self-ignite vs. an ICEV (unless it is an N52-engine'd BMW )

At this point in the story, there is no "misinformation".
That's what I am having trouble with. The car park vid I posted from a daily shows the vehicle, whatever it is, appear to combust quite violently from the left side similar to the 'flame thrower' effect of other EV's I've seen ignite.
Without seing the burnt vehicle I can't take the word that 'it was reported' by someone that it was a diesel or some other vehicle.

No, from the moment the video starts, I can tell the video is a setup, he's a toxic hater, and a liar. Even before he reaches the car park, he's already complaining! I've been in UK recently, I know very well that their charging infrastructure is much better than U.S.. You can find chargers everywhere, and in UK 25% of new car sales are EVs, expected to reach 50% next year. So you need to be really uninformed - ignorant to believe misinformation videos like this.

There is misinformation, as the investigators found out that the fire was started by a diesel Land Rover. And that's the only INFORMATION available. So when you share the video with the headline 'EV caused fire', it's misinformation, it's a lie.

Sure, then its totally non sequitur, since this is a thread about EVs and not electrical systems/ICE batteries. It was 100% misinformation at the time it was posted.

Why would he be lying if he leased his own EV, your argument is lukewarm.

The word from the fire chief is all we have right now, you are spreading disinformation at this point otherwise, trying to “fill the hole” of not knowing with your bias.

So when there is no evidence, you assume it's an EV.
When there is evidence, they need to convince you - a hater conspiracy theorist from U.S.. Why? You have evidence that investigators are lying?

Same with the Fremantle Highway auto cargo fire. Assumed to be EVs as cause then that is turning out to be complete BS.

"While the fire is still officially listed as under investigation, the trade Automobilwoche contends the preliminary survey and report say apparently the fire was not caused by electric cars. The manifest showed there were 498 electric vehicles and hybrids and a total of 3,784 vehicles including some heavy equipment in addition to cars."

From a NON-EV oriented website:

https://maritime-executive.com/artic...mantle-highway

The final report is pending. There will be real EV fires but probably ought to focus on accuracy.
