LOL yes, quite literally over for 20 years now. Good news is that anybody who still wants one can get one for $3,000

New car looks great imo. No hood line, aggressive but still reserved. Leaked rear looks the business too. Daddy likes. Great sign for the M5.

Hopefully, it can manage 300+ miles EPA, I'll put a deposit down if so.

Looks like they’ve dropped the side gill which I thought was an aerodynamic feature to let air escape out of the wheel well.
I see they haven’t given up on plonking an m Madge everywhere again, the badge looks a bit odd stuck on what looks like a plain wing/ fender.

I really want to reserved my final judgement when I see one in the metal (hopefully at the Munich motor show in September) but I’ve spent a little while liking at this and the 2 words popping into my head are “bland” and “average “

Always a personal preference and I can see people on this forum already giving it praise which is fair enough. If you don’t like it, no one is forcing you to buy one but it’s a forum, so if you can’t express an opinion here, where can you?

there is nothing bland about the F10 and the G60.

the F10 is reserved, like a proper German exec saloon should be. and thanks to that, it's aging like fine wine.

this new gen is not bland either with all its complicated shapes on the bumpers, blacked-out M Sport trim & stuff. is it as elegant as the G30 LCI, no. is it super aggressive, no.

these sort of cars aren't really supposed to have a massive initial wow factor and feature crazy design cues. the E60 was a bit of a revolution, though, yeah.

I think the car looks fine, I just don’t understand the point of it.

The 5 series is a dying car. The 5 guys have either moved onto an X5 or even the 7. The few remaining are old school guys that love their ICE cars. I suppose this car is targeting the model S crowd and I’m sure they’ll snag a few of those potential buyers from Tesla, but why not invest this money into a segment that would sell like hotcakes? The small SAV that starts in the 55–60k range. Give us an electric X3 or bring over the iX 40. I know I see ten model Y’s to every S.

On top of that, BMW is already struggling to produce the i4 M50 to the point where there are now wait times much greater than the M3. Over year long waits for one of those which I assume has the same battery.

Seems like this car was designed for other markets.

I see your point but BMW is investing in those other areas too, just a bit behind the curve relative to Tesla. I'm sure plans for EV CUVs are already there. Their EV neue klasse platforms are in the cards too.

In my region I do still see 5ers, E class, Model S', Taycan, etc. around. There's still a market for these cars.

It wouldn’t be Bimmerpost without all the over-reactions of a leaked picture with an awkward angle.

Excited to see the actual reveal. As BMW as it can be given today’s automotive landscape.

Doesn’t have classic German or Munich styling, but it could have been A LOT worse. I’ll take it, especially the G99

Will reserve judgment til official pics come but i feel it’s a weird angle…

But my positive thoughts are that it doesn’t have the new 7er style front! So that’s a win in my books and no 4er buck tooth grill

Anyone else notice how small the wheel gap is for this car.Looks perfect. When you look at this you have to wonder why the G87 has such large wheel gap and this doesn’t.
