I'm over black wheels or black wheels with parts of the face machined... very common place and kinda boring to me.

Would be nice if BMW started offering finishes like some of the premium forged wheel manufactures like a brushed clear or brushed light smoke finish.

Or offer their top M design wheel for each model in a 100% silver finish.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest, I typically de-badge all of my BMWs so this would at least let it keep some of its identity. It's subtle.

This thing is tough to look at. Those side mirror caps though I can already see ppl wanting to transfer over to other models

My bank account loves that I find this horrendous. It fails miserably at separating me from my money. Fail.

Not many will want hideous car with cramped interior compared to SUV.

E60 5er is still very ugly and I never warmed up to the Bangle styling on it 👎

E34, E39, F10 were GREAT designs.

Each to their own of course but I think if a car looks good , that will be your initial impression. You shouldn’t have to get used to it or have it grow on you

That last picture of a e39 msport with the m parallel wheels, that imho is arguably the best looking bmw ever.

Still looking forward to seeing the g60 in the metal at the Munich motor show in early September

Like some of the wheel options, just wish they were available in 20”. The 19s look a little too small on this car and 21s are a no go due to the roads where I live.

Mostly true but rears do more work than you might think in the newer cars. Brake bias to reduce dive when braking, traction control, etc meant the rear pads on my G30 required replacement when the fronts had plenty of life left.

You like to live in the past that’s totally fine but don’t assume others like to as well. BMW doesn’t really care what you “warmed up to”.

A design that grows on you is a more successful design than the one you like at first sight. It's also way more preferable to the car company and to the designer.

A car that can look pleasant to most people is actually very easy to implement. Kinda like my G20 and the X3. Nobody cares about the design of these models, nobody talks about them. They're just generic BMWs. But if a design grows on you in time, like G80, it means you're associating the design with the greatness of the car, which adds character to the car and puts it in a place where nobody can copy it.

Gotta get the right trim level and do the right things to it. This was my '04, RIP.

E39 looks and drives like a turtle, ditto for F10. Not a popular opinion I'm aware, but the E60 puts both of those cars to shame. Agree with you on the E34 though, that's a dead sexy car especially in M5 guise.

The side is the only part of the car that is not controversial.

If the E60 looked great, then the E60 M5 would be easily a highly sought after car with a V10 and manual in a Sedan!

The dynamics of the E60 were not the issue, just the styling and early Idrive.

yepp, gotta keep in mind a design has a 7 year outlook to it, including a LCI.

Have you looked at E60 M5 manual prices lately? They are highly sought after.

E60 looks great from any angle, in the right trim. It's a very trim and color sensitive design. From what I've seen in photos, the G60 is no different. I see a TON of E60 in the G60, which is probably why I like it.

E90/92 is much more sought after and cost more.

E39 M5 carry much higher premium over E60.
That generation clearly suffered with enthusiasts bec of the controversial styling. This is not even debatable.

Sure it is, because styling is subjective. E60s aren't for you, and that's totally fine. Just as a reference point, clean manual E60 M5s are selling in the 40s and 50s; one just sold on BaT back in March for 80K.

Ok so proves my point that its less valued than E9x M3 from same time and definitely less than E39 M5 which was universally loved.

Styling is subjective to a point.
Most great cars typically have a majority that love the design such as E39 M5, E30 M3, E46 M3 etc. Then there are cars like E60 and now this G60 where some like it but most don’t.
