If one could say the same for the wheels 😔

OP wheel choice seems like this EV-esq wheel style is finally beginning to tie the over all design together quite well

but wheels can be changed as often as one wants!

to quote one of my former girlfriend from a long time ago: "you change the wheels on your car more often than me buying new high heels... so who's the one with a problem?" (she was absolutely right... because I was young and stupid at the time)

Agreed, unfortunately, some owners take longer to decide which wheels they want to own as if it’s their last choice in life. Smh

maybe I'm just old... is it wrong that I am still attracted to chrome wheels , even on a new Bimmer?

I wonder what chrome wheels like this one will look like on a G60 530i in oxide grey?

I agree. Does the cooperation between BMW and Toyota end with the Supra? Or has it permeated into other BMW models?

I mean, it's not bad-looking.. but come on... it's a Bimmer... make it look like a Bimmer from every angle!

BMW is catering their designs to one specific global market….look up their highest sales by region and you will understand.

To my eye, a little too tan. Was between this and Tanzanite and went with Tanzanite.

BMW doesn't offer a silver 530i/540i in the US... since I don't really care for how they make the bottom of the rear bumper all black(regardless of body color), I ended up ordering sapphire black. That way, everything is nice and black. However, if the oxide grey is a nice champagne or light gold color like what BMW 5-series back in the 1990s, then I may change my mind.
I have an oxide gray iX loaner at the moment…and my first thought was “this looks like a modern champagne.”

And since probably 1996ish I’ve thought champagne looks terrible…I like the color a lot, I think.

Thanks!

will the oxide grey color that you posted be the closest I can come to matching my existing space silver X1? (currently have 530i sapphire black on order) If so, I guess I'm changing my order to oxide grey next week.

How do I order the car I want?

I decided about six weeks ago that this oxide grey M-sport is the car I want, except in a 540ix version, but my dealer has discouraged me and I've given up. Dealer points me in the direction of an SUV, but then I point him toward the 2021 540ix that I'm driving now, and he says "just hold on to it. Ordering from the factory would take well over six months from the day we start accepting orders and we haven't started accepting them yet." (although they accept "pre-orders" whatever that is.)

Sounds like your dealer has no idea what he's talking about. I ordered my 540ix about three weeks ago. I got a production number about 10 days ago and the car is now listed as "production begins" as of 12-14-23 with a VIN number attached. I anticipate delivery in about 8-10 weeks.

Find another dealer. The one telling you 6 months is lying, so you can’t trust them. They want to sell you what they want to sell you, not what you want to buy. 540iX allocations are available, my dealer has at least 2 on the way right now and more waiting production.

I had the same issue when I tried to order an i5. I went to the closest dealer. They told me is could be 2 years with an order, just to rope me into the one vehicle they were getting as a demo. They didn’t have any allocations. I went elsewhere and that dealer had 8 slots available already at status 112. Just go elsewhere.

I keep coming back to this. My top spec.

Suddenly this car to me is way nicer than the previous gen, which I always thought was "too long" looking. This one has some sort of good balance in size, even front looks "tankish" now. I think this is going to be most successful BMW 5er yet. Especially the electric one.

Any particular reason you went with the 540 over the 550e?
