Was excited for this but sad to say it’s not my jam. It will grow on me I guess.

On the positive, the hood styling is cool and the taillights are also sleek and cool.

The daytime running light design is so bad… what the hell? It looks unfinished

Aside from the rear gimmicky taillights on the new E Class, I think Mercedes did a better job.
I agree about the rear valance- when did black shiny plastic pretending to be a diffuser make design beautiful?

So will ICE models be lower?

For me, the exterior design is just very bland. The side profile is so flat and not muscular. The rear lights looks like the Camry from 1990s.

While the light bar in the interior seemed to be just for the front doors. The rear doors don't get any. Why?

Ewe, that was my gut reaction. Then I looked at all the pics, and yep, just ewe. I’m sure there are individual features I will like, but overall the styling is terrible, the wheels are terrible, and the interior screams Kia so loudly I have to look away.

Every generation the strong character line on the side vanishes a little

Anyone know when they will show pics of the 540i with M-sport? A shadowline ICE grill will definitely help but curious to see how the sensor will look.

I think in a dark color this will be nice because not a fan of how BMW is adding so much black accenting on the front/rear bumper and side skirts.

I think it looks decent.

Almost similar to e60 5 series.

I will like it when I see M5 and M570i, etc.

Unfortunately, the more I look at it the more I realize BMW designers’ dreams were subverted for the sake of aerodynamics, i.e., drag coefficients.

The problem is the tech isn’t advanced enough on the battery to be efficient…. Mercedes did the same thing - but worse.

Crazy how far behind they are on this. When tesla created the bev successfully, bmw should have woken up. There is no way I’d buy a 5300 lb sports sedan with this egg shaped look, as much as I am loyal to bmw.

I actually don’t like teslas for their cheap interior, but they are so efficient and simple compared to this mess. Imagine telling your friends I have a 5 i M 60 X drive. It’s over complicated, heavy, blah range and sacrifice range for acceleration. Huge battery. A base model S beats this car in every dimension - faster, more range, lighter, simpler, faster charge rate.

I would buy it for my mom, but for me it’s pretty clear cut.

Regarding the drls, we’ve gone from angel eyes to snake eyes!

Bmw can’t seem to make up their mind what to do with these

Need to see this car in black to hide all that crap plastic trim along the bottom. And the grill, blacked out please. Looks too big without that yet again.

It’s ok, but it just doesn’t look premium to me. The car is 80k, it should look like that.
