Is there a temporary way to exceed the max charge % setting for the i5?

I'll ask the question by using an example.

I set my i5 to charge up to 75% by default when I plug in at home to charge each day. This is set in the car's charging menu.

This is more than enough for my daily commutes and weekend drives around town.

Then, the wife and I are going to spend a weekend away from home and I want to charge the car to 100% before I leave home for the long trip. Is there a way (either in the car, or in the myBMW app) to tell the car to charge all the way to 100% just this one time? I know I can go back to the same place I set the 75% limit, and move it up to 100%, but then I have to remember to put it back to 75% later when I get home.

I'm hoping there is a "one-time" way to tell the car to continue charging to 100% even though the default limit is set to something lower. Anyone find a way to do this, or will I just have to adjust the default limit in the same menu any time I want to go to 100%?

I don’t know for sure, but I just move the charging threshold slider on the myBMW app and it’s not a big deal to reset after I unplug. I get that you don’t want to accidentally always charge to 100%, but I never use the iDrive menu, only ever the app.

Unfortunately there is no “one time” setting. You have to manually set it back to your usual percentage.

I've been moving the slider back and forth in the App. For regular driving, 80% is more than adequate. For work travel (1-2 times a week), I need the 100% to get there and back.

Tesla just added this to their app, but I've lost count of how many times I set mine higher for a trip to the in-laws (80-90%) and then forget it when I'm back and it charges back up. This is a very useful feature, hope BMW adds it to the app.

I can't find the site anymore, but apparently a few battery studies done a while ago recommended 50-60 daily charge if you're only puttering around town and don't need more in order to maintain battery life. I've had my Tesla for 2.5 years and only have a few miles of degradation (daily charge to 57%).

I sometimes have set to 90% for a longer drive and have forgotten to change it back. It’s not a big deal for me.

Thanks for all the replies. That's what I thought. I have my limit set to 65% and I don't often go below 50%. I work at home and most of my travels during the week are 25 mile round trips so I just plug in each time I get home and I'm good for most days.

I hope BMW adds this to the app at some point in the future too. It would be a "nice to have" feature.
