How do you keep your car seats clean after a sweaty workout?

I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to maintaining leather car seats, especially new ones. Problem is I sometimes have to jump in the car to run home and shower after a very sweaty workout. What are some clever ways you guys keep your seats neat or covered to protect them?

just shower before the workout...put my hoodie down on the seat...wipe the seat after I get home with warm water and microfiber.

tbh I dont care anymore; it doesn't serve the mind well to be "OCD" about such little things. its your car you paying for it. Sweat in that bitch!

I am lucky I can walk to the gym each day but the days I dont I will minimum change my shirt and also place a large towel down if I can't take a shower and change before getting back into the car. Otherwise I have been in cars where my buds workout and get back into their cars and WOW it smells, of course they are immune to it and dont realize it.

This is a major issue for me too.

Looks like the only way to do it is to increase the laundry load by changing clothes more often and carrying extra towels.

At a minimum - I place a clean, fluffy towel on the seat as a cover.

I go before work and shower at the gym during the week. So during that span it isn't an issue.

Come the weekend it's a different story. I always change my shirt afterwards, but for the most part I'll just bite the bullet when it comes to the shorts. Sometimes I pack a large shirt to cover my ass lol. It's a struggle, I feel your pain.

Same here....during the week I shower after working out. But on weekends I get in the gym so early that I shower then as well.

No sense in going home and waking up the wife as I am getting in before 5:00am sometimes. I come home and immediately in the kitchen to make up some food.

To the OP.....Maybe keep a beach towel or something in the car to use that you can change out as often as you need to.

I'm lazy and throw a hoodie on after the workout. If I wore it during the workout and it's gross, I'll do a quick wipe up after with a microfiber and clean it well on the weekend.

There are dedicated protective seat covers available. Just mind the sizing and fitting. I have two pretty nice ones (protecting, easy to wash, good looking) but:
  1. They are quite a bit too short for my sport seats (even with the thigh pad in and the headrest down). No length excess to tuck them in to fix properly. Usable, just not convenient.

  2. They tend to slide around: hard to get on/off without uncovering the seat.

Shower. Then again I am at an Onyx level Lifetime and I usually sit in the spa or steam room after w workout, so showering is a no brainer no matter the day or time.

i used to put a large beach towel and usually it was a short drive home, now i finally have a small gym at home so it eliminates this problem

I shower after the workout, and don't touch the seats with the same clothes I wore during the workout. It's not that I'm OCD about my seats being clean, but I've been in people's cars who clearly do not shower before getting in their car and it smells really bad. Attempting to use air fresheners also just makes it worse.

Because two won't fit an average boot/trunk. They look nice (hopefully no side airbag issue, they cover those seat sides "lightly") but I don't think even one would fit my glove box (besides some other stuff) and be as easy to wash (dry fast) as my two. Not a perfect replacement.

There's a reason the locker room at the club has all those shower nozzles. It's because you smell like Bigfoot's ass-crack when you're done working out.
