Hey all

Going to document my journey in this thread. Had originally put a deposit on a Vegas Red M60, but I've been partial since the release of the M3 in Isle of Man Green (IOMG - love that acronym!) and decided to go with a custom order.

I saw the Red and while it's nice, I've had 3 red cars (2 BMWs, currently have a Red tesla M3 Perf), so wanted something different. I did however see the Dark graphite and Frozen Dark graphite and if I end up having to wait too long, they have a Dark Graphite in stock with Smoked White Veganza....!! Argh choices.

Anyway I should find out next week or two if BMW will build it (dealer has a May allocation) for an MY24 or if it'll go to MY25. I'm not holding my breath on MY24, but maybe there will be some QOL improvements in MY25 (massage seats maybe?!).. No idea when I would receive it, hopefully before 2026 And if BMW refuses (I guess it could happen), then I'll just get the Dark Graphite, which has all the same options as below.

I'm in Canada so packages are a bit different, but basically every box is checked off except for the Adaptive M Suspension Pro with Active Anti-Roll Stabilization. I owed it to myself to truly get what I want.. Will cross the bridge if BMW refuses the individual.

1. 08-Apr-24: Changed Smoke White to Silverstone/AG Merino, added 21" wheels, removed comfort seats (not compatible with Silverstone).
2. 09-Apr-24: Confirmation from dealer that BMW Canada accepted to build as a MY24 year.
3. 11-Apr-24: Production # received.

Congrats. Our long time BMW sales rep...this is his FAV colour and he has ordered several M3 and M4 in this shade. It takes longer to sell than other colours, but it looks fantastic on the showroom floor. And then just like that, someone comes in & they say it's their dream colour and it sells on the spot (just for the colour).

I definitely know it’s not for everyone. But anecdotally from a bunch of family and friends I talked to recently, almost unanimously preferred IOMG, but many of them are afraid of having a “loud” colour like this. I guess that’s why you see so many black/white/grey cars on the road. Which I’ve also had in the past (2 white and 1 silver).

But I’ve learnt from myself through those cars that I’ve got to have a colour that makes a statement and doesn’t look like every other car on the road. But that’s me! 😉.

Congratulations! I think it's a great colour and don't worry too much about the wait - it's fun tracking it too and worth it to get exactly what you want.

Haha, you don't know me.. It will gnaw at me daily! I also know with individual colour that they usually wait to have a "batch" of cars to paint, and with IOMG who knows how long that could be.

SM (Since I've bought 4 BMWs, I deal directly with the sales manager) told me realistically probably around December/January, unless by some miracle they accept to do it in May as a MY24, but in his 20 years at BMW, he's said he has very rarely seen an Individual colour get processed so fast, a bit of the luck of the draw. I'm hoping maybe they are waiting for final production runs of MY24 to do the individuals and I can get lucky! If that's the case, I would likely have my car in September.

So it’s $5000 CAD which is about 3700 USD. However I think in the USA BMW charges $4,500 (which is like 6,100 CAD)

So definitely cheaper up north.

The whole car was about 89k USD pre-tax but all fees, etc. That includes the individual colour and all options sans the M adaptive suspension and merino seat option.

A while back someone posted the individual color viewer for the G60. I love my Tanzanite Blue, which also had a delay, but had they been available then, I would have done an individual color. Congrats, your build looks amazing.

Congratulations on the order! I get it. I was driving today in the i5 and then at the last four way stop before home was an IOMG M3. It caused me to pause and say wow, super impressive color.

It’s an amazing colour. They have a few IOMG M3/M4s at my dealer and I just stare at it.

Yep Otto’s. Got my 4 BMWs from there. Did try to go to Elite as it’s closer but I had a piss poor experience. They claimed on a lease they couldn’t remove the wear and tear and other packages.

Anyway Otto’s treats me well. Manager Hassan is awesome.

Welp, first changes are in on Apr 8, 2024.

Changed Smoke white veganza for Silverstone/Atlas Grey Merino. After discussing with the wife and some friends, unanimous that Silverstone with its two-tone colour is a bit nicer. I'll get the seats ceramic coated anyway.

Also changed from the 20" to the 21". 21"s are much nicer and there's an 8 mile difference it appears in range.

Also had to remove the comfort seat as they are not compatible with Silverstone merino, which is odd.. I would have to go Copper Brown or Black merino. Maybe an MY25 change?!

Got called by the Sales Manager this morning. Apparently BMW Canada got back to him and confirmed they could build my IOMG i5 in May as an MY24 model.

He said I've got to get all changes into him by Thursday. Don't think I'll do anymore.

I'm still not completely believing it'll be built as an MY24, but maybe because IOMG is a "regular" colour for the M3?

We'll see if I get the production # so I can track it in the next few weeks!

Got the email today with the production #!

Looks like the BMW tracking site doesn't put Individual colours, so I'll be staring at Brooklyn Grey for the next few months
