I just noticed that our ship (Viking Queen) is puttering around at a little over one knot below Ensenada - looks like it will unload in Port Hueneme on Wednesday rather than Tuesday - I'm guessing there is a backup at the port -Hopefully, no mechanical problems or 26 cars rolling overboard!

Yeah, I noticed it was circling around Ensenada today, but didn't notice a time/date change. Oh well, one more day won't kill us I suppose.

My SA told me that he is expecting the car around mid next week, so perhaps 1 week is a safe estimate for arrival at the dealership after a ship arrives at port (when the dealership is about 65 miles from the port).

I just got an alert on the mybmw app saying that I had updates to install. I had entered the VIN of my ordered car on the app weeks ago. I’m hoping this means that it’s going through the VPC today. Would love to have the car next week!

If you don't hear anything by Monday morning, call the BMW 800 number. They know what day the truck hauls to the dealer. Changes are, your ride is either at the dealer or will be tomorrow (Sunday). Mine was scheduled to be delivered to Orange County today. Unfortunately, dealers have skeleton crews on Saturday so they may not be able to do their thing until Monday. Good luck!

I agree - my car arrived in Port Hueneme in the early morning and was at my local dealership 2 days later. I think cars that are marked as "sold" get priority through processing. Plus, since the ship was only in port for just under 12 hours, I wonder how many cars they could wheel off in that amount of time. I'm guessing not too many but I don't really know.

I'm having to wait until end of next week too because my SA is out of town until Wednesday. I figure, what's a few more days after what has already been 2 months of waiting!

My status on the myBMW site still says it’s at the port. I was thinking it wasn’t worth calling the 1800 number until it showed as in transit again

For whatever reason, the website only sporadically updates. It used to be worse. My last car was "At the Port" when it was sitting in my driveway. I believe the people answering the 800 number can see the same info as the dealer.

I spoke with the genius line this morning. He confirmed that the car arrived at the port on 3/13 but unfortunately it's still waiting for a carrier. He said that the proposed loading dates had already passed so he was unable to give any idea when it would find a truck for delivery to the dealership. I guess good things come to those who wait...

Yes, we are all held up at the VPC - I called the 800 number this morning as well - Our cars are there but the trucking company just hasn't transported them yet - It is my understanding that updates don't happen until later in the day so our truck COULD be on the road or at the dealers. They like to miss LA traffic.

I switch to “at the port” on the the 14th and the 800 number said to expect it to be at the port for 6-8 weeks before being on a ship! That I can expect delivery in June that just sounds crazy!

The genius line always seems to provide wildly unrealistic estimates regarding how long the car is likely to sit in port waiting for a ship. I think they do this to avoid people complaining that the car isn't coming soon enough. In reality the general wait in port is about two weeks. My car was on a ship and on its way eight days after it arrived at port. If you're on the East coast you should have the car in about 4-5 weeks.
