How are you liking the ride so far Mike? Those wheels set off the blue nicely.

I like it a lot. I LOVED my M550 it replaced, so the bar is high.

There is a learning curve with iDrive 8.5 and the new controls and I’m worried about range. If fast chargers on the NYS Thruway work like they should (and finally all get built out), shouldn’t be an issue. Just requires a little different planning, but I have back issues and stop at every stop or every other to get out and stretch my legs. 10 minutes here and there of DC fast charging and it should not be an issue.

I was decidedly NOT a fan of the looks of the G60 when I first saw images, but it has grown on me a lot—and I think it looks awesome in the Tanzanite. If they offered Skyscraper Gray on the G60 I’d have gotten that for ease of care—gorgeous color—but I have had my eye on the Tanzanite for a while and glad to have finally gotten a car with it. My M550 was Bluestone, 540 before that was silver and X5 is Arctic Gray (ones before were mineral white and space gray). I’m very OCD about the cars and the dark color will make me more so, but dealer did a ceramic coat to start things off right.

I also was someone who definitely felt the interior was a step down from the G30 in some important ways. I still miss the leather dash and leather on the doors (and real multicontour seats—still don’t get that one at all). But, the interior works very well and has grown on me too. As soon as I drove one, I was like, ok, I get it. I also like the M font on the screens, which you only get with the Ms. Looks a lot better than the regular font in my opinion.

I haven’t done a long trip yet—got the car just before Christmas—but will share with the group after I do on how I’m managing my range anxiety.

I’m letting the battery get down a bit so I can try one of the fast chargers near me to see how well it works. Been topping off every night in my garage with the 48amp ChargePoint I had installed.

I work on the Staten Island Ferry and watched the ship pass under the verrazno bridge from the engine room of the ferry I was on. Had one of my crew get the pictures while I watched on the security camera.

I picked up my M60 on 12/30/23. Black Sapphire Metallic with Black interior. I traded in my '23 iX and I am beyond loving this new 5er. This is my 3rd 5 Series and BMW nailed it.

I have not owned a black car in decades, and they are just as hard to keep clean as I remember....but when clean for 3 mins and 42 seconds, LOL, the i5 looks awesome in black.

I would have loved to get the i7 Space Silver Colour with black Shadowline pkg. Silvers and light grays are my go to, as I am pretty OCD with cars and cleaning

Yes - 19’s. Not bad. Look better in person but they are a little small.

21 inch BMW individual wheels are nice. I have had too many broken and bent rims driving on New York's third county roads though. Hopefully my 20 inch wheels will survive the Belt parkway in winter

I don't think a tank can survive the Belt in winter.

That's the main reason I went with the 19" 933 rims. Plus, they're damn nice looking.

Finally got mine home today! It’s an absolute rocket coming out of my 2014 535 m sport. The Crystal Black on Smoke Veganza looks amazing. Have to shout out BMW of Devon in the Philly burbs. Dealing with them was a piece of cake; easily the best car buying experience I’ve ever had.
