I definitely agree that more "standard" colors should be available, but I don't think that Tanzanite Blue and Phytonic Blue are similar at all. The Tanzanite is a much darker blue with some other colors thrown in (like purple) depending on the light, while Phytonic is a much more straight forward blue with no other colors that I can see. As you say though, we all have different eyes and therefore differing opinions on colors.

Thanks for confirming what my wife has been saying that I’m going colour blind 🤣. I saw a Phytonic and TZ i5 at a dealer under cloudy skies and I had to squint to see a difference. From what I’ve seen, Phytonic seems to pop a bit more in the sun to make it more “blue”.

At long last...

I can finally post some pictures of my i5 M60. It took a while before I could make an appointment to get it coated, but it was worth it I believe.

Carbon black metallic with black perforated and quilted veganza interior. I got most of the Canadian options: Premium Enhanced Package, Advanced Driver Assistance Package, Equipment Package Professional, Adaptive M Suspension Pro w/Active Roll Stabilization, Comfort Seats w/Lumbar Support and High Gloss Dark Oak Fine Wood. I did not take the M accents and I decided I would leave the grille alone (no lighting) - something I debated for quite a bit.

I love the result and it drives great! In one of the pictures you can see the contrast with another M60 in black - the carbon black has a very pleasant blue hue in the sun. I also took a closeup picture of the metallic paint... I might be too obsessed.

The pictures are downsampled from an HDR source - I hope they still convey the vibrancy of this color.

Thanks!

Congratulations on the new car! It looks great. I definitely like how Carbon Black has a blue hue in the sunlight. I like how you get the M badging on the outside sides of the vehicle. I wish we got that in the US. For some reason, the US may be the only country that doesn't get that exterior badging for some reason.

I wonder if there isn't some archaic federal regulation that prohibits such badges as they may be confused for turning signals - that is the only thing that pops in my mind. I was worried about the badges too, after reading some of the posts, and I am happy that they are allowed here.

Sorry.
I was on vacation for a few days and need to get acclimatized at home first.

Would you be kind enough to take a few measurements to get an accurate placement of the side //M fender badge.

I’ll do my best - my measuring tape is a tailor’s tape. I’ll try to do that tomorrow night. (Edit: typo)

Congratulations on the new car! That's Brooklyn Grey right? Be sure to share your thoughts about the drive and what you think of the car after a week or so when you've had more of a chance to drive it. Looking forward to the inside pictures too.

That's cool that your work provides charging (presuming it's free too). Nice that there are a bunch of "green" spots marked off for charging and plenty open. They provide Level 2 charging right (not DC fast charging)? I think the normal "work" chargers are Level 2 aren't they?
